There should be a registry, just like there is for sex offenders. It should be public and easy to access, and they should be required to have signs in plain view. It should show up on every resume and legal document for employment, and they should be denied all benefits.

These people are not American citizens, they are sub-human disgraces to human nature. They should be treated as such. If they are going to be allowed in this country, it should be on streets, under bridges, and in the filth where they belong.

I'll give it a go, because comparing Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and Kissinger to people who were involved in genocide and ethnic cleansing is just stupid.

People hate Bush and Co. because they chose to go after Saddam, whose atrocities are well documented. If you go after leaders who kill a bunch of people; you're criticized (Iraq). If you don't go after them (Darfur); you're criticized. It's pretty much a no win situation.

Whether you think going to war against Iraq was a good decision or a bad decision, there is no way that you can seriously believe that the Bush administration did it to wipe all Iraqis off the face of the planet. If that were the case, there are much simpler ways to do that now.

Cliff note version: I am not defending the decisions made by Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld. I am just saying that it is ridiculous to say that their decisions were motivated by hate for the Iraqi people and a desire to kill all of them. Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld =/= Nazi.

The Nazis wanted to exterminate all Jewish people. Henry Kissinger grew up as an Orthodox Jew. Kissinger =/= Nazi.

what? no, nobody thinks that. it was a war for money, control, etc etc

anyway that is an ENTIRELY different can o' worms.

no one's saying those dudes are nazis or have the same motivations, just that they are indeed war criminals

let's leave that one alone ha

i think this thread could be an interesting discussion about what these people deserve etc, if it matters, and so on

I still don't buy that. Bush was old school. Saddam was the biggest bully on the block and Bush wanted to go kick his ass and steal his lunch money. If it had been that simple, people would think that he, Cheney and Rumsfeld were the greatest thing since butt floss.

well you don't have to believe it but there are mountains of evidence supporting one side, and naive "no, the government wouldnt do that" feelings defending the other

As to the article, I am kind of surprised. Israeli Mossad is pretty damn good at finding these guys and ending them. If NPR exposed one of these guys and a survivor recognizes them, I would say their life expectancy decreased significantly.

It shouldn't matter what age these men are. They helped commit some of the worst crimes in history. They don't deserve to live in the land of the free. Whether they did any killing or not, they never tried to stop it. I know one man couldn't stop an army. However, my great grandfather, Homer, was a German soldier at the beginning of the war. He was very highly ranked, and met Hitler just as he began taking over Europe. That night he loaded up my great grandmother and their son, my grandfather, on a boat and came to the US. He joined the US army when he was here and worked as a translator in WWII. A little off topic, just really proud of him. But my point is, some men risked their own lives and their families lives to not help Hitler. These men that are living on our soil should be given the death penalty for allowing the Nazis to do these horrible things to people.

I've heard there are quite a few in Utah and Colorado, but thats where everyone goes into hiding. Alot of them fled to south america after WWII. These dudes are like 90 now, and the jews are still hunting them down over 60 years later. Pretty funny if you ask me, just let em suffer of cancer.

Yeah a lot of the SS men got the hell out of Europe following the war as falling into Soviet hands would have been terrible. Eichmann(famous trial) went to Argentina I think and worked some menial job until Israel's Mossad captured him and took him back to Israel for trial. Where he was killed.

But notice how almost all of those guys are Ukranian? They're not ethnic Germans.

Comparing them to Nazi war criminals is too far, but under international law, they are war criminals. Ever heard of extraordinary rendition? It was a program that involved sending "hard case" and sometimes innocent detainees to countries where torture is legal and they were tortured. International law says that it is illegal to intentionally send a detainee to a country where it is likely they will be mistreated or tortured.

Most weren't the one comes up with the disgusting ideas, it was higher-ups. But there are exceptions to everything of course. Most foot soldiers probably weren't hell bent on exterminating jews, just saying. You have a valid point though.

Who cares. The president of nasa who designed the saturn 5 rocket that took us to the moon was not only a nazi scientist but he was ss as well. The us basicly kidnapped hin for his brains after the war. Either way nazi crimes werent nearly as bad as soviet crimes, and i dont hear anybody bitching about the people in russia who helped kill 20+ million people, the greatest genocide in history
