I'm looking to buy some new boots and well there are no boot fitters around that know what they're doing...The boots that were "fitted" for me were so big my feet literally slid around in them...I need to know where to measure length and width...I have a 10.5 inch foot from big toe to heel and from widest part of foot to the other widest part is 114mm...Do you measure the middle of your foot (narrowest point) or widest part (Behind toes)?
Well length wise 10.5 inches corresponds to 26.5cm so that's more then likly a size 26. As for width 114mm is super wide so I would guess your a bit off there. You measure the width straight across at the ball of the foot, the area just behind your toes. But one thing to note is do both these measurements sat down with no weight on the foot and then also stood up. The unweighted size will be more important as that is the true size of your foot when fitted with footbeds. Now that may be your problem, you need a good footbed to stabilise your foot and keep it neutral. No boots come with footbeds so you will still need to find a boot fitter, even if you get some boots online.
101 is not that wide you would prob be best off with a 100 mm last boot. But the width is only the start you need to know what instep height you need, what toe box shape you need, the heel volume, the calf and leg volume ect ect. Luckily for you 100mm lasted boots are some of the most common so you have a lot of choice but now you need to go get some shell checks dine to see how your foot interacts with the boot. It's also probably that you may need a little punch work doing to a 100mm boot but you will not know that until you get the foot beds done and the liners moulded. Sorry man but you still need a boot fitter.
You always measure with socks. A hoot would help lol. Both stood up and sat. But you will still needs fitter I can't make you footbeds, punch boots or mould liners over the Internet haha
