Dale's urban was insane. wallride to wallride the corner. wall ride to 360. k-fed off that ledge. the roof shots.

a few shots were sick, the corks to roof and the wall to redirect but i dont know imo there was nothing worth 100k, while some of the switch landings and lines in mcnutts were mind blowing and bigger than anything id ever seen. dale is sick im not denying that and his spring edits and nordica edit are definetly in my top edits list but this one just didnt have the same effect as those maybe i just like his style in the park better than on urban features.

and kieran should have made an edit

Wait, you're saying what Dale did wasn't worth 100k but the type of skiing Kieran does is...? Don't get me wrong, the shit Kieran does is sick but to say thats worth $100,000 and Dales shit isn't is just ridiculous.

and I still just can't get over how ill dales edit was, the smog in slc for about 99% of the winter made the edit so much more intense and I really don't understand how Mccleod (I'm assuming most were him) kept his glide cam that steady for all of those shots, just fucking unreal. The level they stepped it up this from keep looking (production wise) is so pleasing. Now if Stept will just release something too already.

While I like McNutt more than any of the other skiers in their except for Sage, I'd have to agree with the herd mentality that Dale's was unreal. Not only were the tricks phenomenal, but the setups and the creativity of what he was hitting was also unreal. I think the biggest thing for me, though, was the incredible sound design that was incorporated into his edit and the impressive cinematography from 4bi9.

i mean i feel what you guys are all saying, impressed wasnt the best word to use in my first post cause a lot of those shots were impressive but for me id vote for someone doing something new and innovative over someone like dale who is doing tricks a lot of people can do, but on a bigger jump or gnarlier rail, any day. dales was sick im not denying that but its not really what i personally think is the best.

and if kieran took his tricks to urban rails and filmed street all year, i dont see why he wouldnt have a chance. like a park edit of him, i agree, isnt at the same level as most of the entries but if he could take his tricks to big urban stuff i think itwould be one hell of an edit. maybe not worth 100k but who knows

Dont get me wrong, Dale's was sick for sure, but I like watching McNutt ski a lot more. That nose butter 5 mid line...insane.

Thanks. I honestly hope something great comes out of the colab and I get a couple of votes. I've been thinking about the breakbeat ski this last few days, with a tail wider than the tip, and I'm hoping to get something physically produced with enough support... so a few votes definitely won't go unnoticed. I want the breakbeats to allow full 360s on groomers - jumping out of carves on fairly flat runs into the spin and then landing. So Heartcarve 2.0 is just a stepping stone into that.

Nope, the winner is voted on buy the top 18 videos + 3 wild cards so its voted on by the athletes and tgr. The votes determine the top 21, but i feel like there arent even 21 videos...

I'm kind of surprised noone has mentioned them yet but for me what I was most proud of us accomplishing in Dale's edit was the Avante Garde BC features we built. I'm not going to say its better than this or that, but the BC redirect (cork 900) BC butter bowl (270 in 720 out) and the BC butter pad (sw 180 left 900) are what stands out to me as far as being one of a kind and tricks that I dont think any one else in the contest could do.

that said Mcnutts was really ill, I thought Sam Cohen skied some insane lines as well.

The NS community is very numb to what is considered "innovative" and "sick" these days, i dont get how people don't see that EVERY SHOT in dales edit was a hammer, i think some pro skiers are stoked if they get half of what dale had in that edit.

yeah, each one of those features took 25+ man hours to build and they took multiple days to get right. alot of people forget the amount of effort behind it all.

i thought sam cohen skiing superior on a year with barely any snow was super sick. and that elysse girls video was fuckin rad. also mcnutts butter's were one of a kind.

i thought there would be more videos in total from this comp

NS has definitely been tainted to talent in regards of just watching edits and seeing all the sick stuff in one video. I think a lot of times they fail to see how long it takes to land a trick of that magnitude and all the failed attempts it takes to get the final cut that is shown in edits and segments.

Dale killed it, hands down that was the most insane urban I've yet to see. Just cork after cork of throwdowns. I was fortunate enough to see him ski at the Canyons back in March this year, Dale isn't just talk, he delivers.

Don't belittle the attention to detail talented editors (including yourself) need to make an edit of that quality.

In my opinion, if its in there (first shot with Dale) then its there because they wanted it....
