Why do we ski?

I wanted to ask the question, why do we ski? Why do we wake up early, drive hundreds of kilometres, clip into our bindings and enjoy the slopes with our friends and family?
I'd have to say because I love being on the mountain and trying to push my limits to see how much better I can be, and enjoy that with my friends. What do you guys think?
