Looking for a Allmnt twin tip. Reccomendations?

Looking for a allmnt twin to slay everything in Colorado. Im 5'9'' 170lbs. Tyoe 3 skier almost everywhere, Suck in the park but still like it. Jumps at least. Like going fast and big arcs down steeps. Needs to be stiff. Longer turning radius. Like a plus 23m.

Skis Im looking at:
ON3P Jeronimo 181
Faction Soma 184
Moment Tahoe 180
High society FR 179

Really Interested in the Faction Soma if you ride it or know someone who does.

What Im looking for is some reviews on these ski or skis that are similar in type. Already looked around couldn't find many good reviews.

the ON3P is a sick ass ski, but if you wanted to add more a parkie type ski but still great around the mountain i'd look at the Armada Al Dente- Henrik's Pro Model for this upcoming year, nice and fat, nice and soft, and fun to play around with, good luck on ur search for the one. :D

This ski probably wont be seeing the park too much. I saw the Armada ALD earlier this year but looked like ARV but rockerd. ARV seems like a good ski but kinda soft for my liking.
I guess I want more allmnt performance than a park ski.

God you obviously know jack shit about skis. Really, recommending the al Dante when he wants a stiffer charger? That thing is a rockered noodle park ski, and is nothing like the ones he asked about. It's not even an all mountain ski, it's a park ski

Op, the al Dante is one of the farthest things from what you want

It's starting to piss me off how so many kids are recommending that ski in every thread for everything.


As far as recommending something for the thread, another couple possibilities are the Dynastar 6th Sense Huge from before they added rocker (if you can find it) or even the newer one. It's designed to be a big mountain ski, so it should be on the stiffer side. Current model is 33m radius.

Its twin tip but not for skiing switch, look at the armada tst. Its like ~102ish underefoot and super fun

check out some of the atomics. I know they have a few stiff chargers around there. Or if your feeling it the line prophet series

Wait are you looking for like a half twin directional charger or more of a true twin bidirectional all mountain ski?

Blake, have you skied the al dente? It's not really a park ski it's an all mountain ski. It was the ski I was going to recommend before I read he wants something stiff. That are soft but they destroy the mountain. They are incredibly stable for a softer ski. I was ripping them around whistler and they were one of the skis you could go as fast as you wanted down anything and never feel out of control. I tested them at the same time as most of next years skis so I was testing volkl, saloon, head, nordica, k2, line vet and honestly the al dente was one of if not the beat ski I tried. Saying its a park ski is just wrong, yes you can use it there but it's certainly not a one trick pony

I have the Faction Wednesday, its the Soma but without tip and tail rocker. All I can say is it a dope ski. Stiff enough for crud busting and charging(I think they stiffened up the Soma a bit more than the wednesday), great stability and carving on. Was my first year I started actually trying stuff in the park and they worked like a dream. They also float really well in pow, PM me for questions about the ski.

Hows the Wensday on high speed groomers? Is it a full side wall or part cap? How does the stiffness compare to other skis?
The only thing making think Soma over Wensd is Soma wider turning radius. That and Soma comes in a 184. But it's not a full traditional camber so running length will probably be less than wensd 178.

skis do really well high speed on groomers chatter is not noticeable whatsoever, alot stiffer than my other skis 09" volkl ledges, they are side wall skis, but not ordinary sidewall, im not sure the proper term but the sidewall slants and then goes vertically.

im in your spot, and may be instructing with whatever i choose too. the ski im considering most right now is the new alpha x. looking for a park ski that will have a nice stiffness and carve as well as extra width for upper mountain shred. can anyone attest to the new alpha possibly charging harder and carving better than the al-dente? i was basing this assumption mostly on stiffness..

I own a pair of 186 Billy goats and they are my go to powder ski. Should of put that before. I've seen the Kestle west 110 and looks sick except for the fact I rarely go switch in pow. I might try to pick up a pair if I can find some cheap used ones at the Aspensnowmass Rental gear sale in Nov. Only reason I'm considering getting a pair is cause how awesome they sounded in the Blister gear review.

I only own two skis right now. BGs and Ar7s. Thinking about selling the Ar7s and making this ski my allmnt.

Reading up on the Faction Soma. They say it have STP technology but I don't even understand what they mean by that. Can anyone explain to me how pressing waves in to a ski benefits it? Heres quote from Faction about STP tech but I have yet to decrypt it. Like how does pressed wood make the ski lighter?

No it will not be as good a charger by any means. It's good for park and carving turns on flat groomers but when things get chopped up or there is fresh snow it's no near the al dente. But it would be better for teaching. At level 1 and 2 you will mainly be skiing on blues so you need a ski which can turn well at slower speedss

Got posted to soon. I was saying for your needs teaching the alpha x would be ok, but I would not think a twin rocketed ski would be that great to take your exam on. If you are looking for a teaching ski from armada have a look at the triumph. And then get something else as your day off ski
