trying to get a job and have about $1200 saved up im looking for 240sx, wrx, or gsx basically any overrated nissan,mitsubishi, and subaru what do you think?

good luck getting one of those for under 5 grand that isn't going to beat up with a million miles.

if you're looking for an older subaru, look for an older 2.5RS...should be cheaper, still fun to drive and practical.

ive found all of those cheap but then again some were shit and some were good and im considering a 2.5rs and just make it ricey but for some reason craigslist people overprice the cheap stuff

You're from new hampshire, I would only look at subarus. The awd is prime for the shit show of a job snow plowing is, the muddy dirt roads, and subies are generally pretty tough.

im mainly an awd person but rwd is good for drifting in the dirt and id prefer an evo over any subaru but evos way out of my budget

ill sell you a subaru for $1200 but its not going to be a fucking 2.5rs, a clean GC8 body style Subaru goes for like 6 grand in my area.

Its going to be difficult, but you could maybe just get a base model impreza, 2.5rs, 02 wrx, A beat up 240, eclipse, civic's, accords, Might be able to score a scion tc for cheap. These are all the "teenage sports car's" good luck!!!!!!!!

yea it sucks most stock 240s on craigslist are either shit or modded with welded diff because drift car. i know girls in my surrounding town with 240s they dont do shit but lie about drifting thats all i want it for haha and i respect civics for gas mileage only that vtec stuff is dumb im planning for AWD or RWD

Well for AWD cant go wrong with a wrx, AWD turbo wrx would be ideal, the only thing is they can go from anywhere from 4k-alot of cash. You might find better luck in a mazda protege awd turbo cause they can be cheaper then some wrx's.

yea i managed to find an STI for $4500 but cant trust an 06 car thats originally about $21000 im probably gonna get som form of subaru within the next 2 or 3 years really need a job just hoping for a kick ass car for senior idk why

theres at least 10 on craigslist from 2k-5k but yea its one of the cars im considering i have cars for winter im just in need of my own car because ones a shitty rwd volvo that wont last then out truck which my mom uses in the winter when snowy then my dad and bro have there own cars

i drive a tundra most of the time its sweet with a v8 and 350hp but i just want a car of my own and well yea insurance would blow with those cars idk yet and outbacks are just no for me i hate driving wagons i also often drive a volvo wagon its annoying to reverse park yet id drive a wrx/sti hatchback lolo

240sx's are actually not all that great, steer clear of them unless you have the money to turbo and weld your differential. Not ideal for a first car at all.

I would recommend a golf, or a toyota carolla or some shit that's cheap and easy to work on, because if you buy a performance sports car as your first car, for under $5000, you're buying a deathtrap.

A golf will be much cheaper to fix and to buy. Because seriously just face the facts that you're not going to get a nice WRX or 240 unless your dad buys it for you. So suck it up and deal with a crappier car for your first car.

Having a crappy car as your first car is half the fun anyway.





Or you could do what this kid did and be a fucking boss.

Have the money to weld a diff lololol? You can easily find a repairable WRX for under $5k but I know for a fact OP does not have the knowledge to go about any body work.

exactly theres a girl at my school with one but she most likely doesnt drift and then theres a grandma in a nearby town with a completely stock one probably does full lock drifts

Dont know what 240's are like where you live, but I find very clean SR swapped 240's around 5k all day. I actually went to look at one that had an SR before winter started and talked the guy down to 2500, Im still kicking myself for not pulling the trigger. To OP's question though, everyone in here is hitting the the point pretty well. Get a beater for your first car, keep saving your money, and buy something else that you can do a build on or whatever your plans are. I would personally start off with a cheap ass honda or integra just so you can learn how to work on cars, but for the love of God please dont stay in that scene. Wait a year or two and buy a 240 to build (Or a WRX, but youre gonna be dumping a shit load more money into it) and keep your first car as a daily/beater. Also welding a diff takes no more than a few free hours and someone who knows how to lay a fat bead.

i have people who would help me with a 240 to work on but i think im gonna either save up get an awd car to use and make better and in the next 10 years try to be a proud evo or sti owner im one of those kids who wants a shit ton of cars haha and ive found cheap 240s that id have to trailer home but comes with an sr20 im freshly licensed so i got nothing but time

ive seen a couple s14's and id love an rx7 but so much stuff to do just to drive ive heard you have to let it warm up a while before driving and to redline very often to get the carbon out rotarys just arent good but an rb26 would be fucking sick in an s14...its just a hard time finding a good thing for cheap i just wish i were rich
