Suggestions for boots you can tour in and ski inbounds

I'm looking for some suggestions on a pair of ski boots that would be good for both touring and inbounds skiing. I'm looking for something that is light but is still a good everyday inbounds boot. Thanks for the suggestions!

Salomon Quest Series, Nordica Cochise, Fischer Ranger, Dalbello Sherpa, and I THINK Sean Pettit has a pro model coming out with Dalbello called the KR Two with a walk/ski switch on it too but I'm not certain.

There are a few suggestions, do your research and find a bootfitter

If you're looking for something that is really light the scraps maestrale is super light, but then you do sacrifice some of the inbound responsiveness. The quest Maxs (100 or 120) are both super solid inbound boots with a walk mode. A little heavier then a pure out of bounds boot but not too bad. Avoid the quest 80s, those things way a lot in comparison to even the quest max series.

atomic tracker and tecnica cochise are the only ones id consider, the tracker has a shitty walk mode but skis well, the cochise 130 is awesome, skis great with a good walk mode and tech fittings.

I have atomic tracker 110's and they are perfect. Got a walk mode which makes them great for touring. They are lighter than the salomon quest max and they don't go as high on the back of your calf (that extra bit does make a difference). I use them in the park too and they are really nice coz they are pretty responsive. Landing back seat can occasionally be a problem but that's the same in any boots I guess.

I demoed the RX 120's and loved them! they have a 100 last so they fit my slightly wider foot nicely. They have an adjustable flex system (from 120 down to 100) but dont have a walk/ski mode on them.

^yeah I've actually done plenty of tours in hot doggers, but I guess that doesn't really help the op.

I spent 10 days touring in the 2012 FT hot doggers on a NOLS course.

Just gotta have the boots tight enough so that your foot doesn't slide around and blister but loose enough so that you can flex when you walk.

I got 1 small blister after 10 days of touring. It's a solid touring boot.

You are completely right @Anti_Steeze, I got myself confused between the RX and XT series.

Note to OP, the comment on the blaster series is still correct, so just use the clicky in my earlier post

Go for the right fit and flex. Walk mode is a bonus, but not necessary, and may compromise how the boot skis.

it helps when youre friends with the Dynastar rep I suppose... but ya, I skied them for a day and i thought they were awesome! actually going to try to pick up a pair when funds allow
