seriously? you never shot at squirrels, birds, the neighbors dog/cat/children, etc. with a bb gun when you were young? pretty sure that's a boyhood rite of passage....fuck, i still shoot at shit off of my front deck. mainly geese as they have a tendency to shit all over my dock, sea wall, and patio.

I never would shoot at squirrels just because my BB gat was powerful and would their shit. Even my red ryder could fuck shit up. Me and my dad would however shoot crows. The thing was it wasn't to kill them, they used to fly over my house en masse when I was in 6th-9th grade. It was actually pretty fucking cool but every night around 6 me and my dad would get out BB gats and just pump rounds into the crows. It was so tight they would like get the wind knocked out of them and drop like 6 feet then start flying again. I have some great memories of BB guns and my dad and my friends and shit. I'll never forget it, which is why I'll be proud to buy my son his own BB gat when he is old enough.

I can one up you, I used to lifeguard at a lake and these geese always swim on the dock and shit on it. One day a life guard found out that if you throw a rock at them they fly away. So I take a rock about 1/4 size on my palm and side arm it like 30 feet out to make it fly away. In my blind throw I hit this bird square in its neck broke it then its head went under water and it downed to death. I know no one will belive this story but I swear it happened. Good! I fucking hate these things!! They are forever shitting all over my dock!! So I snipe these bitches all the time. Unfortunately, my piece of shit bb gun isn't strong enough to kill them though. I was actually looking at upgrading it recently for this exact reason.

The funny thing is, almost the same thing happened where I work. I work at a waterpark, the geese swim and shit in all the pools and on the decks. So one kid threw a rock at them to scare them away, and nailed one right in the head. If I remember, it was like seizing on the ground and died.

Then the park ranger guy came in and was like, yeah, this probably got hit by a car, then flew in here to die. And that's obviously not what happened, but he wasn't trying to get fired for killing it and leaving it there.

I killed a bird with a slingshot from like 50 yards out. I mean, I was shooting pea gravel with a Walmart slingshot, so I had no hopes of hitting it. When I hit it, I was stoked for a few seconds, then I felt really bad.

We've got a window in our garage that looks into my backyard. My dad pays me $2 per chipmunk I shoot because they dig holes all over our yard. It's a good way to pass the time during the summer

Funny story:

When I was about 8, I got a BB gun for a birthday present. We went to my grandma's house and I took it with me because she lived in a fairly wooded area, and I wanted to feel like a bad ass army guy. I spotted a turkey up in a tree and decided to shoot at it, thinking I would miss or nothing would happen. I ended up knocking the turkey off balance and it fell down and landed head first on the ground breaking it's neck. Not knowing what to do, I watched it flop around in agony for a solid 5 minutes before it finally died.

I told my grandma about it and she called her hick neighbor Albert. He walked up into the woods, grabbed the turkey, and threw it into the bed of his truck. The next day, I had the best god damn turkey dinner ever.

Slightly messed up story time

My mom always had a giant problem with rabbits eating the vegetation in which she planted, so as children she would have us shoot them with bb guns to scare them off. None of them ever died.... then my brother got a weak compound bow. He drilled a rabbit in the side and it took off running. The arrow only went half way through. It was like a running shish kabob. It tried to run through the storm drain that was under our driveway but was abruptly stopped due to the arrow's length being greater than the diameter of the pipe. It made a few attempts before dying. It died too quickly for us to find a way to put it out of its misery. Needless to say, we just went back to shooting them with bb guns.
