2005: (within each year i classify by month and then title that month with key words of what happened)
ongoing projects (current projects that are in progress EX. iv been taking a picture of every grocery run iv done for almost a year now, this project would go in here)
if it a special event i'll give it its own category within the year it was taken.
ski films: (everythign ski related, classified by season and location)
each client project will have its own folder
each project will have its own folder ( inside i put: inspiration , planning, test shots, usable shots etc also)
i also use color codes to show what i have backed up or not.
Does anyone know of a very minimalist database management software that can be used for photos without making copies all over the place?
I would like to tag photos with specific keywords like "tree" or "mountain" and then be able to search for them. For instance i can enter "mountain" and it will show me all the photos i have of mountains across all files (timelines)
fuck iphoto and fuck aperture. (if you disagree, care to explain) i tried both and lost a bunch of photos from transfering them around. not down.
great thread OP, very relevant.
