Why am i pussying out on a back flip???

Why do i always pussy out when im going to hit a back flip...I can hit them on the tramp, pool, and ledges but im scared on skis.

WHy am i a pussy????

Just go for it and COMMIT. As long as you COMMIT, you will be fine. You've probably done TONS of backflips - too many to count. You'll surprise yourself. You will be able to figure out if you need to flip faster or not.

just do it. I overrotated my first time and was completely fine. Then i under rotated the second time, and I pretty much have never fallen on a backy again.

when your tips are at the top of the kicker, lean back, arch your back, pop at the same time, AND KEEP LOOKING BEHIND YOU until you see the landing, then keep your eye on a spot on the landing and boom your done. If you look at yours skis (or dont look behind by tilting your head up) you will under rotate.

trust me your fine, you do it once = you will never forget how after

worry about over or under rotating. if you keep your eyes on the landing you know when to stop. I would set as hard as possible the first time

well before you hit the jump it really helps to slowly ride up to the jump then look down take a deep breath and grow some balls because the real reason is because the hormones from your vagina are what it keeping you from doing the backflip.

I think knowing how hard to tuck, how fast to rotate, etc. will just come with experience. I've thrown about 25 this year and landed maybe 15 of them clean. The others I either over or under rotated. These are off all different sizes of jumps, mostly larger ones with varying degrees of knuckles and down slopes.

I'm just starting to feel comfortable laying them out a little bit and not immediately tucking my knees to my chest as I take off. I usually over rotate more often than I under rotate now, mainly because I've learned what jumps I can actually throw a backflip off of and I don't do it on jumps I think I will under rotate on now.

I'm still not spotting my landings great -- I still throw it more on feel and body control. Gotta learn to lean my head back further to spot the landing for the whole rotation.

you'd be surprised how well your body will get your feet under you. just toss it. yeah you may slam a few times before you get your bearings but keep your head back and spot your landing, feet will follow you around.

Noooooo. That jump has some hang time, and if you tuck like that, you're going to over rotate. I'd recommend trying it into powder first just to develop your air awareness at a low risk, but that may not be possible. Anyway, for that jump, you're definitely going to have to lay it out.

NEVER slack off on the take off, even if you are trying to slow down your spin. I tried that, ended up in the fetal position, and luckily landed without killing myself. You slow down your rotation mid-air, not on the take off. Keep that in mind.

my video should give you a sense of backflips of all sizes

  "noob backflip fail" --look at my cocky neighbor not commit to a jump that does the flip for you

the "preseason at bromley" video has us backflipping and trying to backflip the smallest bumps we could

@ 1:05 i do a large backflip on flatground mogul thats about the fastest you can spin a backie 

im telling you confidence comes immediately after doing it.   then same trick whether its a 40 foot or groomer bump obviously your spotting and leg dragging is only necessary over 15 foot jump

who said that you needed to tuck. just look back until you see the landing. but most importantly...MAKE SURE THAT YOU COMMIT. and when ive tried new tricks in the past, i put in some music that kinda pumped me up and just went for it i guess.

stop asking questions. i have seen dozens of kids learn on the last hit out of a pipe. others off of wind-lips into powder, others on regular park jumps, others off poppy side booters. the results are the same every time. the ones that get a good pop and really commit come out on top and the ones that can't decide whether or not to throw it until they're in the air eat shit but are usually glad they tried it.

just keep this in mind when you start to doubt yourself. FUCKING SEND IT YOU PUSSY! QUIT BEING A BITCH! you're going to be fine, you gotta try your first backflip before you can land your first backflip.
