Help me for my presentation. +K of course

Why would you need us if you have it done? Anyways just how illmatic is regarded as one of the best if not the best album of time

Well, last time she had no idea what I was talking about, but gave me a bad grade. And this was probably because my presentation was really bad.

I am going to be very blunt. Teachers if you are a high school student and professors/instructors if you are in college HATE having to read papers/listen to presentations about people like 2pac, Biggie, or Nas. It drives them up the wall.

And as to why... with someone like 2Pac or Biggie the honest fact is talking about their deaths and whether you believe they really are dead or not has been done literally to death (no pun/funnies intended). 2pac died in 1996, Biggie died in 1997. It has almost been 10 years and as far as instructors/teachers/professors are concerned there is nothing new to be brought to the table.

English in high school or college?

Nas may not be dead but what are the requirements of the assignment and what exactly are you reporting about?

Don't get me wrong, since you already have the presentation ready to go and it's today that you have to give it don't try to change it now. I'm just trying to give some pointers for what to keep in mind the next time you have to do a presentation.

I'm not familiar with the school system in the USA but I guess I'd be high school? 9th grade I guess.

And if I can ask what was the topic or the one your teacher gave you a poor grade on.


I'm only asking these things because in my experience in high school and college, the more unique, "interesting" (subjective I know), or "new" a subject is for a paper or a report the more likely the one grading it will enjoy it and give you a better grade.

Just for 2 examples. I am a senior in college but have to retake English 101 since I got a shit grade when I took it previously. My first of two essays for the class I wrote "about" MMA/Muay Thai, something I enjoy doing a lot. HOWEVER, I wrote about it in the way of questioning why the stereotype of "Affliction wearing douchebag" as well as "human cockfighting" exist and tried to discuss how those were, for the most part, incorrect.

Another essay I had for a Race, Politics, and Public Policy class I wanted to do a paper on the "boat people" or refugees from Vietnam. However, my prof suggested I look at the "boat people" coming from Cuba and Haiti since he had never had a person discuss that topic.


Both of these I managed to scrounge an A out of them. The first one for my English class really surprised me as I figured I would get a C given I didn't think the topic was that great (kinda like I would get a C in high school for writing about skiing and Seth Morrison and shit). However, the instructor loved my essay because of how I wrote it.

There aren't certain requirements actually. Just a short presentation about something.
It was actually Nas too. I just focused on his music career and not on his personal life. I was also pretty nervous, so I got a bad grade and had to do it again. But I appreciate your help and I'm gonna keep that in mind. Thank you (:

Are you getting to use a PowerPoint or is it one of those annoying "stand in front of the class with some notes" type presentation?

We just got into a new class so I could use power point, but it doesn't work on my computer so just standing in front of the class with some notes

Ouch that stinks.

The nice thing about PP is it gives you a reason to look away from the audience so it feels like you aren't getting stared at the whole time.

I just get more nervous because English is my second language
