Heading to SF tomorrow night for one and super stoked for it. Anyone been? If you hate EDM or don't like these guys, then good for you. Looking to get some stoke/advice from fellow concert goers.
WELL. first off drop atleast .3 of molly. second. to hype you up, I recently attended an otto knows - alesso conecert. shit was wild i couldn't stop dancing the entire concert. He played alot of SHM mash ups and it was fucking insane. Don't you worry child was one of the greatest songs i have ever danced to. The coolest thing about these concerts is the vibes that you are surrounded by. EVERYONE is fucked up so no one gives two shits about anything but dancing and the music, as long as you are nice to people, any person at the venue will be nice back, It's basically a huge happy place full of all ages of people fucked up and gathered together to just JAM to music they love. You will deffinitely see some weird people, but enjoy it, because they are humans just like you and me. they are there for the same reason you are. SHM is deffinitely one of the better venues, you are going to fucking love it. Now to hype you up, the best part about these conerts are the drops, the song builds up, and you can feel the energy around you build up with it, about to burst, and when the drop hits, the entire crowd, and i mean the ENTIRE crowd begins to jump all in sync to the beat of the song with exploding energy. The energy youll experience is an experience that can't really be compared to anything else in the world. Some songs i would listen to before going are Don't you worry child, HUGE hit right now, one, greyhound, save the world and every remix to it, and whatever edm you prefer. Deffinitely know the songs before you go, it will help with the experience. Enjoy, I can promise you it will be one of the most fun nights of your life for sure. AND don't forget these guys are legends, and this is their last week performing.
Seeing them in LA on the 8th. Super stoked. Hate on EDM all you want but going to a show is an experience everyone should have with or without drugs. You feel a connection to every person there and its an incredible feeling
I went to the saturday show in toronto, was so fuckin dope and i don't even listen to house music it was just one hugee rave. That being said i'm going to the Diplo x Major Lazer at sound academy tomorrow which i think is gonna be better than SHM. Realistically its house music so its definitely more about drugs/the party than the music itself.
so i went to the show in mtl last night. it was as expected. bunch of noobs fist pumping, but thats how north america is. also, axwell is usually funny on the mic but fuck there were times i wanted to punch him. "it's cold outside but warm in your hearts" or something... really bruh?
almost went last night, but was not into the thought of fighting off a crew of middle/high school girls... ill wait for the festivals and smaller venues to see electronic music i think
anywhere to get info on smaller venue shows or god forbid actual raves around montreal? everything is at new city gas now and other than the actual building its everything i hate about a venue
I dont know much for Montreal personally. I go to school in vermont, which is about an hour and a half drive to get into the city. I saw a show at metropolis a couple weeks ago, it seemed like a suitable size venue tho idt they go for edm sort of bands. I'm sure theres some Mcgill kids on ns that know where to go.
