perhaps more useful than op... She tore her ACL, MCL and broke a bone in her leg. Getting surgery on ligaments, no surgery needed on the bone. 6-8 month rehab, back in time for Sochi.

As bad as it was and as much sympathy as i have for her, this was not nearly as bad as most other crashes in the sport. While she may be a multi-gold athlete there's no reason to plaster this crash so heavily. I guess it's just more over-exageration by the media.

Still though, hopefully her recovery goes well and she is back at peak performance by Sochi.

no, you're wrong. bending your knee like that, including both MCL & ACL tears, is some of the nastiest shit that can happen in skiing. it was bad.
