working on a rig is 8-10g a month. work long enough, that will increase as you rise up the ladder.
good career? possibly, if you dont have a family, but career anyways.
in 6 months you can definitely gross 60g a year. and thats not working your days off. do a couple shifts on your 7 days off and your making what you would in 14 days. (add 20g if you do that every third shift)
which is a decent salary if your just taking care of yourself. not to mention benefit plans for oil companies are among some of the best.
