Tie dye your own shit. I have a huge hoodie for skiing that I tie dyed myself. It has zero pattern, but it's sick, and really not that hard to do. You can pick it up from the nearest craft store.

been there done that.

I got a shitty grade on my art project in like 4 th grade drawing a house.

I did everything tiedyed style, even the sky and the grass. Teacher didn't feel it. I was destined to be a wook.


There's plenty of tie dyed shit if you look around. If you can't finds it make your own. It's not that hard. Snag some white tall tees/hoodies and go to town.

I, too, wish to know this. This thread also reminds me that I have a black tall tee that I need to bleach tie dye at some point this spring. Definitely gonna practice on some dollar store black tees first though.

It's quite simple really, get creative with the rubber banding and you can make some awesome patterns.

One of the many shirts I've made.

Simple mistakes to avoid:

Use all cotton, polyester won't absorb dye.

Wear rubber gloves, unless you want dyed hands for a week.

Rubber band shirts, soak in soda ash all night, wring out as much water as you can, dye, leave sit overnight, rinse then wash.

Lay down cardboard then a trash bag to dye on.

Wash tub immediately after rinsing out dye.

Seperate dyed shirts enough on trash bag to avoid dye running into other shirts.


Fun side project, get another white shirt and just ball it up, use it to wipe up excess dye during dye process. Instant chaotic and random extra tie dye shirt.

Someone should post a very legitimate, pictured tutorial on how to bleach tie dye. I want to, and never learnt how. And how the fuck has anyone not tie-dyed in their childhood, how bad were you abused?

Well PASKIINGSUCKS just delivered. But as far as the bleach goes, my understanding is that you take a black shirt, and basically use bleach solution in the same way you'd use dye. But like I said, I'm gonna practice first to get the hang of it.
