So I've been doing freestyle for 4 years. Everyone loves to talk about how good they are with these "edits" and things. I''m here to admit, to all of newschoolers that I suckkk. I don't really mind cause I'm still having fun, but its been 4 years and I only do 360s, off of 20 ft jumps max. And rail tricks, forget about it. FS 270 is about as far as I get.

I KNOW I'm not alone. This is safe place to admit your suckage.

so yeah I suck.

All I can do is super steezy 180's, butters, and jump shit. I dont even touch rails, but im having fun so thats all that matters :)

Yeah I'm just starting to try 3's. just getting down rails. but its still a blast. Only my second year and I can't wait to have more experience with it.

Happily gonna join this club.

Jumps, I can land my 3's probably 90% of the time now.  Can't sack up for a 5 and God forbid inverts.

Rails I can front 2 out maybe 40% of the time and that's it.  Just started hitting urban rails so I feel like a bawss when I can stomp one of those!

Since we're talking confessions, I'm scared to shit of rails and going upside down/corked on park jumps.
And no, it's not because I just started. I actually have sponsorships for big mtn skiing.
it's a real mindfuck when I can huck a 50 ft cliff, but can't handle a 15ft rail hahah

im in here too, just now after skiing today on my 3rd year skiing park i have my 3's down with blunt and tail, i can hit just about every rail but no switch ups and i get 270's about 18.372589% give or take if im lucky, just learned to fs switch up and 270 fs and blind on tubes, but i have a great time no matter what. and my steeze is always on point

Someone call my name lol? I've been skiing for about 14 years and I'm terrible at park. Best I've got is shiftys and ski slides on boxes. Still having a great time in and out of park though :)

im not to good either but i can do swap to 2 out variations on boxes and some rails. i can also 540 like a 20 and ive 720'd a little hip type thing. but i can 360 anything up to like a 30. im very slowly getting better. but i mainly try to have fun and stay out of concussion trouble cuz ive had a few of those and its not helping my mental health at all

Good thread

Ive been skiing for about 4 years but still havent been able to do a 3 on a jump ever. Actually I dont even like jumps. If you put a cannon off the lip of a jump I would have more success doing a 2 out either way than me landing a 3. Its so fucked and I just cant figure out my shit when it comes to jumps.

Fuck it though, thats why I stick to rails.

im okay at jumps (spin up to 7, frontflip, switch threes on jumps up to 40ft) but im AWFUL at rails. 270's on are easy for me but i cant spin off a rail to save my life. i can barely get 270s around and have never 4'd off

After 3 years of park i'm marginally better than your average british park rider. I worked hard to get to where i am now but i just enjoy lapping the park so its not like "training". Hitting any size of kicker switch still scares the utter shit out of me. Ive only just sacked up and learnt switch onto boxes. Although i can rodeo 5 ive never attempted a front or back despite what i might tell people (im a liar, and a bad person). I like to try and learn something every time i go skiing no matter how minor and i feel this keeps it fun rather than "i have to step up today and do this new trick". Outside the park ive gone from being a lazy back seat punter to somebody who can carve well down almost any piste and have a solid pow technique and building confidence on riding steep and technical stuff.

Haha ok i suppose i dont really belong here and my first sentence gives that away. In that im better than average. I just feel there are parts of my riding which are lacking in comparison to others and considering how much i ski for a brit, i sometimes imagine i would be better by now.

I take comfort in the fact that there is at least one person on this site (Without reading any other posts(OP (Evan Auidi))) that I am better than.

I suck. I land 3s 75 percent of the time and have yet to grow the balls to hit a rail that has more than one kink in it (aka DFD rails). I can land slow and smooth 180s but anything bigger than 25 feet is a hesitant straight air for me. Nevertheless I still hold the title of best (and only) female park skier at my hill. WORD

ok what is the definition of good in this thread then? after reading this, i thought i was pretty good and now I just feel awful.

I can 5/sw3/3/ on jumps (in my defense my home hill doesn't have any so yeah), I can consistently front/back 2, front/back swups on most rails, almost get some 4's out and i can disaster some stuff... also, i can bfed and kfed certain rails... 2's on are sketch at best if they aren't on any sort of box.

i kinda think i'm good...

but also I'm not just a park only kid (my friends might disagree but fuck'em) and i can shred the whole mountain, plus i race. that has to count for something

Why is everyone saying they aren't good? What are you comparing yourself to? There are so many types of skiing and you don't have to do a double cork to be considered "good".

I'm still working on my 7, 4's out of rails, and other stuff in the park so am I "good"? no... but skiing is my love and it's what I'm best at. I strive to be the best all around skier, wether it's downhill, trees, bumps, groomers, cliffs, backcountry or park, I love it all and I want to ski everything on the mountain.

Don't try to compare yourself to the pros like Wallisch, there's more to skiing than just park. If you can shred a zipper line or send it big off a cliff, your good at skiing in my book.. Just have fun and try to progress at whatever feels most natural.

I'm not very good but that's mostly because my whoppong 237ft hill (that used to be a mountain millions of years ago) is so shitty. We don't even have an actual terrain park unless you count two boxes, a tube and one pile of snow that's only big enough to 540 a terrain park. I was trying to huck 720s but even spinning as fast as I can I still couldn't get enough. rotation. There was one jump earlier in the season before I could 540 that could have been big enough for 900 but some old douchbag that's way too old to hit jumps complained saying that it was to dangerous and they got rid if it the next weekend. Sorry I changed the topic there.

Same. Still have trouble bringing 3's around, and 2's out are rare. And im sitting here on NS and YT watching a 12 yr old lip 4 back 2 on a battleship. Then an Aspen Spora edit pops up and im going prone bawling.

I started skiing last december, but i still suck. I only have ski buddies that are way better than me which is good but it also lowers my confidence. I have yet to even land a 180. I can barely ski switch, I can go down Double Blacks just fine but only if theres no trees or other people around. I can also handle tree runs fairly well but other than that my form just sucks. I ski with my feet to far apart. Thats about it other than that i can bomb groomers and Im good at powder too :)

Yeah I'm not that good in the park. I've thrown like one clean 3 and have hit a corigated pipe culvert thing and boxes but no rails yet. I'll prolly attempt those next season...I'm more into the steep and deep.

3 years skiing park. i can only do 180s both ways, never hit a rail in my entire life, can slide a box sideways (occasionally tailpress), and do a switch tail butter 3. i can ski the upper mountain just fine and rip it like it's nothing, can ski switch just fine, and i can ski steepes alot, even though there haven't been a lot of powder days this season that i've gone skiing on. I suck :(
