Tanner Hall did not qualify

He didnt even try ? After years of talking shit about coming back strong into the pipe he didnt even throw a double, or any other tech tricks that could get him to finals. I was super disappointed by his performance, it looked like something out of 2007. To all of those who thought he might make it to the olympics I guess its pretty clear that it was just a pipe dream.

My advice Tanner: either give it 100% effort to actually qualify, or dont talk shit for like 3 years straight.

Stoked that Tanner is out there riding, even if he doesn't want to risk his neck. The doubles may come or they may not, who cares, it's still sick to see him holding his own with kids near half his age.

I'd like to add I'm stoked for Dumont hanging on to qualify. He's coming back from ACL and skiing with both wrists currently broken...

I thought his runs looked to be about the level they were at a few years back. He now has a solid base to improve on.

Being a THall supporter I agree with everyone else that we can't write him off solely based of this performance. But what struck me as odd was that in his interview he said he had barely started to try doubles in the pipe a few weeks before the competition. For somebody trying to come back strongly in the comp scene I would think he would have had that figured out/tried it out a while before X Games.

This thread is silly. I mean lets be honest, he's been out of the pipe game for 3 yrs did you really think he was going to podium? Simon only missed a year and made the cut by the hair on his chinny chin chin. He's happy to ride and that's all good. I'm not much of a tanner fan but he's done some good for the sport and that's all I can ask for. I do agree he probably shouldn't of been running his mouth on Instagram a month back or so. That was a little silly and imature.

But it's whateverrrrrrrr keep those tips up kiddies!

As for Simon, I honestly feel like he is now realizing that his professional pipe career might be slowly grinding to an end. A lot of his tweets are self pitying about how old he is and stuff. The guy is truly a legend. I am sure he will still be involved in the sport in some role.

All in due time. Coming back from his major injuries is a process and if he didn't quite feel ready for the doubles it's ok, it will come.
