I have last years 177 Afterbangs, and I'd probably recommend the Domains. If I could go back, they would be my choice, or the Chronics. Afterbangs are extremely limited in what they can do, and don't perform well when you aren't doing that. They aren't a bad ski by any means, they are like a big fat soft pow ski, you can't take them everywhere and do everything with them, but they are fun when you ski them in their targeted environment.

Domains. Got them this year and have had about 12 days on them. Super fun, buttery, poppy, and playful. The afterbangs I had felt super dead compared to the domains. Gret on rails amd jumps. The durability is better than my Afterbangs too. At this point on the Abangs I already had three edge cracks. On the domains, the bases are still in great condition, some Minor topsheet damage, 1 edge crack.
I haven't skied any of them but I did some research on them. The k2 domains get amazing reviews I haven't read one bad review of them. Though the press gets some shitty reviews. People say they aren't very durable, very noodley, and are not very poppy. I haven't seen many reviews on the a bangs but at every ski resort I go to there is always a large amount of people that have them. So they might be pretty descent.
Personally I would NEVER buy the afterbangs even for my first pair of skis. Press's are soft but also very beginner. But they are a good bang for your buck. I would get the domains but that's just me and idk your height, weight, and what you like to do
