Need help with boot sizes
my foot measures slightly above a size 28 on the scale they have in stores, so I'm wondering if i should go with a 28 or a 28.5 considering my foot is slightly over that mark. the 29.5's that i have now murder my feet every day
Very doubtful that you will take a 28 shell. If you measure a 28 on the Brannock, chances are you are a 27 shell. I am purposefully avoiding saying 28.0 or 27.5 because there are not real half sizes in ski boots (28=28.5). The only way to tell what the right size ski boot for you is is to have someone do a shell fit and find the right shell for your foot. This means you should go to a boot-fitter and be properly sized.
WE ARE SKIING.
I see a lot more problems associated with boots that are far too large than anything else, don't think that because your 29.5s kill your feet you need to go bigger, you need to go to a bootfitter, find the right shell, get a custom footbed (the best investment you will ever make for skiing) to ensure that your foot is properly stabilized, and have the fitter make any adjustments necessary to the shell to perfect the fit. Ski with a sharpie in your pocket and mark the spots on the shell that bother you when skiing, go back and have a discussion with the fitter.

thanks for all the responses guys, i appreciate it, i was actually fitted for these boots from my local ski shop and the toe bang i get is so bad after one day my toes are done and i can't ski for a week or more, so I'm thinking these are to big, but ill go to a fitter and see what they say thanks
Yeah if u have that problem it might have to do with the angle of ur foot in the ski boot. I had really bad shin bang and I took my boots to get them re fitted and they readjusted the angle of how my liner Fits in the shell and solved the problem.
i think the boot is just overall to big for me, i tried on full tilt booters at a shop in a 28.5 and it felt about a thousand times better
