Hurt achilles?

Has anyone ever come home from skiing, take off their boot and realize that their achilles tendon hurts like a bitch?

It happened to me!

So any advice on what stretches or icing tequnique to use would be greatly appreciated.

(It has been hurting for about 3 days now to the point where it is hard to walk)

The bursa in your heal is probably inflamed.  Basically it's a small sac of fluid between your tendon and bone.  I had the same problem a few years back.  Right where you'd think you achilles attaches it hurts like a bitch and I could hardly walk even with shoes on.  You need to ice it daily and especially after you ski.  Your boots usually are the culprit.  I found that I hadn't been wearing my boots tight enough and the slop caused my boot to constantly rub on that point and it soon became inflamed and hurt like a SOB.  It's called bursitis if you want to look it up.
