Ski Without ski break.

Hey people.

So i've broken the ski break on one of my bindings, took it to a few places but they said they cant fix it. Problem is i head out to the alps for a week shortly. Any one know of any DIY or other temporary solutions i could use to stop me losing my ski?

why cant they sell you a brake??
go somewhere else!
If you have fucked your binding buy a new binding
Why would you lose your ski?
are you skiing pow or park?
Turn up your dins
buy a leash.
dont ski without a brake as it affects how your boots interact with your binding.
Why am I giving you dodgy solutions?
Why dont you just fix the problem?

I think there's a liability with companies selling just brakes for some bindings. Because you have to take apart the binding to put in ne brakes. I think that's the deal.

Bindings are quite expensive, if you didn't know.

I mean, you could set your DINs to the highest. Who needs knees?

I'm going to go out on a limb and say he's skiing some really good pow.

Bad idea. Don't do that.

This is actually a possibility. It's really dangerous, but if you can't get it fixed in time, try it. Only do this if you're not going to the park, though. My recommendation.

He's correct. Whatever you do, don't take the brake out entirely. Even if it doesn't do anything, leave it in the binding.



OP, is it just one side of the brakes on one binding, or is it both sides? I've broken a single brake off my FKS and ski with it and have had no problems. Still stops whenever I lose it.

I had px 12's and broke the brakes off of my left ski. The brake assembly was only screwed into (through) a hole in the bindings.

But OP, my shop replaced my broken brakes in 20 minutes.

Yeh It's just one ski. I believe they are your stand px breaks. I think I've managed to source some (in the uk) so might be able to fix it myself.

Do you know if px breaks should fit both left and right binding? Or dose one break fit the right and one the left?

May unscrew the working one tonight and see if it fits onto the broken!
