'It has been brought to my attention that Freeze magazine will cease publication after this season. This is a huge blow to the world of skiing and action sports in general. Freeze has been on the forefront of 'newschool' skiing since the beginning. As a skier who grew up being the only skier in my group of snowboarder friends, it was great to see a movement in skiing that blended what I loved about both sports. Freeze continued to push and progress the sport by hosting comps, photoshoots, etc. Granted, newschool skiing does not have near the market niche that snowboarding does, but you can say the same thing about snowboarding 15 years ago. Forget money for just one second and think about all those kids (and adults, I'm 26) that look forward to seeing Freeze in their mailbox during winter to get them stoked for the upcoming season and keep them stoked on the sport that we truly love and live. This is a sad day in skiing.'

YES Skifiend...very well put. Hate mail to TW is not the answer, educated, well thought out emails to TW may not be the answer, but it is at least a good place to start. You need to rally together to let them know the good that FREEZE did for the sport of skiing. Forget about he hate, tell them what FREEZE means to you. Everyone sound off!!!

It has been brought to my attention that you have decided to discontinue publishing Freeze magazine. In my opinion, you have made a grave mistake. I have been skiing for 22 years now and over the past 5 years I have seen the skiing culture change immensely. It is one of the fastest growing winter sports at this moment. In Canada, the number of young skiers is virtually the same as young snowboarders. Also, these young skiers are beginning to become members of the population with additional disposable income. I am 25 years old and consider myself an avid newschool skier. The young skiing population will soon equal that of snowboarding and once they really begin spending you will already have lost the core of the group. For proof, all you need to do is go to the website Newschoolers.com or observe how many independent ski movies are being produced this year. Skiing is growing and will continue growing.
Once again, in my opinion, you have made a grave error in your decision to discontinue Freeze and I hope you change your decision before it is too late.

I would like to express my displeasure with your decision to cancel our beloved freeze magazine. It has been about an hour since the newschool ski community really got wind of this decision, and already we are up in arms over it. Please give this magazine a second chance, it has been the axis mundi of our sacred sport for nearly a decade, and as we are experiencing an exponential growth, this magazine has the opportunity to reach far beyond todays numbers (provided a solid business plan is developed by the Freeze and/or Transworld staff, which does not include giving magazines and subscriptions away by the thousands). Again, please give it a second chance, as the newschool ski community would certainly make it worth your while.
