A factory affiliated with Bauhaus made them first, in limited quantity before WOII, then some years passed until Gavina got the rights in the 60's and then Knoll bought the rights.
Knoll's have better frames: seamless, comes from their experience with the Barcelona Chair, but Gavina has way better leather, so thick and strong.
I need to get the Eames lounge for my library, it clashes with everything but I don't care because it's the best engineered chair in the world, so comfy.
