i am going to ask for a new pair of sticks for christmas and i am looking at the Atomic Punx or the line Travelling Circus, i want a really playful fun park ski for park only i already have line blends. i am 15 and still growing obviously, i am 5'6 130 and i am a intermidiate park skier. i dont hit huge jumps but big enough to do up to 7. +k for feed back or other suggestions.
for a park only ski, having something 90+ waste is silly. You do not need the width nor the additional weight of a fatter ski. I'm a bigger fella (6'1" 190) and I've had no problem sending 80 ft jumps w/ 78-85mm waist skis. (180cm-ish) Excess width can also hinder agility in the park. Note: I am not hating on wide skis, just stating that for park purposes it is not needed.
"You put on your boots, click into your bindings, dust the snow off your skis, and head out for the chair, and it doesn't matter that you failed a test, didn't get the girl, or that your life is on a one way trip down the shitter, your world is right for the next couple of hours."
well when i go to the moutains in Alberta and Bc i will be using my blends 90% of the time and the ski will mostly be used at my local hill's just in the park where it is all groomed and can be pretty icy.
I've skied both. I would say Punx are a 100% park ski, super light and easy to spin, very quick edge to edge etc. But the downside is they are so skinny that they get deflected all over the place in any bumpy terrain.
TCs have kind of slow bases but they are much more stable all mountain. I like mine a lot, that's what I currently ride as my skinny park ski, with Blends as my all-mountain/fatter park ski.
Both are pretty soft, both are great park skis, if you like a wider ski, get the TC. If you're happy to deal with a bunch of deflection all mountain in order to have the lightest ski possible, get the Punx.
It is completely opinion based. I ski a 98 as my every day (99% park) ski, and bring my lizzies (110) every once in a while and both are ridiculously fun in the park. It's not hard to get the "extra" weight around at all.
In the case of the OP, I have always been a fan of both skis. I would take the TC because of the width.
Im the same age and skill set. And i got the TC's, i like all the features, fatty edges ans base, butter zone, cap construction.. and so on. Also i have been following TC since 1.2, and haven't missed an episode. Another thing i loved was the wider waste width. I also live in the East coast and in the Line product video they say they are built for the East coast......
