So I have this fancy hot chocolate mix and it says to mix a tablespoon of it with milk and then "simmer gently." can I just put it in the microwave or will that ruin the fanciness? I'm too high to decide
i find hot chocolate mixes a lot better if you heat the liquid first. it stirs in a lot easier. i've been on a huge hot cocoa kick lately....going through way too much of it with waaaay too many marshmallows.
And if you're using hot water, pls don't. Warm your milk over the stove top (or steam if you can). Your abs won't be able to thank me, because they'll be full of cocoa. But they will in spirit. Until winter is over....then they will curse me.
Some cafe in Toronto makes their hot chocolate like that: hot milk poured over chocolate flakes.
You select between roughly 30%, 60%, or 80% dark chocolate. I got 30% and it was by far the best hot chocolate I've ever had.
Cost like $6 for a small but it was worth it.
Woah woah woah woah woah, hold up there killer. I love whipped cream with my hot chocolate, it's absolutely wonderful. But marshmallows will always have a special place in my heart, they were so good and I'd fly through packs over the winter #nostalgia
Working as a barista on the night shifts, most drinks that required steamed milk I'd always steam more than I needed, and took the leftover for use in hot chocolate. I don't drink coffee but I was damn ok with using up the leftover steamed milk and almost empty whipped cream cans.
I hate how everything is microwaved these days. There isn't one in my apartment for a reason.
I have a few easy steps for you and your hot chocolate problem.
1. Boil water
2. Prep hot chocolate mix in cup
3. Add Sambuca and mix with hot chocolate
4. Add more Sambuca
5. Finally add the boiling water
6. Enjoy
little bit of vanilla extract in real hot cocoa doesn't hurt either if you have it in the house, which you should if you're a real boss as it's used in making homemade whipped cream also.
