Would you be the 45 year old out on the hill jibbing and do flips or just switch over to the regular runs for me I'd probably be skiing a ton of back country

at that age i really hope i can still do some regular rails with 270s off and some small 3s. id love to just cruise the park and do that stuff if i was good enough still and knew i wasn't gonna fall

there's a dude that's 50 or so that still goes hard on our mountain. I've seen him cork 7, and 270 on to a down rail

i think he got kicked out of the resort though for smoking pot on the hill.

I wonder if that's how he survives park skiing at such an old age... Herbal medicine.

my father, who is around 50 isnt really a jibber, but he loves jumps. he will play around with boxes and is trying to get down rails... but he does the biggest jump possible!

i think that would be perfectly reasonable if you didnt ever get any major injuries and still skied often by then. I really doubt ill be doing 9s on hard pack park jumps at 45, but just look at some of the big mountain pros. How old is seth now?like 42 or so? Im 21, and he could obviously out huck me any day.

The modern day park and this kind of jibbin' skiing hasn't been around for that long. So i can't think of a bunch of people who are old and shred. But this sport has grown so much, I sure in 20 years Tom, Gus, and bobby will still be doing some crazy stuff in the skiing world..... and no i don't mean dub 14 to hard pack

I took my 50 year old dad through the park once and he accidentally hopped off the side of a jump to a rail and fell backseat and skidded out. He hasn't gone to the park since.

Im 29, and I can def say that falling hurts a lot more now, then when I was 16. When I was younger, I could slam, get right back up toss my skis on and keep going. I can still do the same, but the next day hurts tons more. I also noticed that my back is more sore then ever before. Not to mention I have a family to suport, so I doubt I will be slaying park when I am older

I only started skiing when I was 22, and started learning park when 26/27.  I'm 28 now, still trying to progress but just having fun mainly.  I know i'll never be doing doubles or anything crazy, but there are still smaller tricks to learn.  It's still pretty satisfying learning anything new.  Risk of injury is scary, but just got to hope for the best

A simple solution would be to stay strong and fit. If you do that, there is no reason why you couldn't be shredding park at 55. I'm 33, and I'm in the shape of my life. When i started skiing park at 29 falling hurt more than it does now that I'm in shape. Stay strong and fit, and you should be fine.

I am glad to hear this. I am 25 now and just started skiing park last year. I got more bruises and soreness last year than any year prior, but I think that's just because I was just pushing myself harder and taking bigger falls. Can only hurt yourself so bad on groomers.

I think if I progress nicely for the next 5-7 years I'll have a nice base of tricks I can continue to use in park at 40+.

And crash pads, I definitely need crash pads this season.

maybe if i wasnt such a lazy ass this summer I'd be having a easier time.

the first few weeks are pretty rough but after that I'm good to go. first few days of bashing rails / self, as well as jumps, sore for a few days, but it goes away and then can send it 7 days a week.

One time we were all sessioning on a 40ish ft jump. And some 50/60ish old gayper comes flying in supper hot and sends it. He tryed a backy or somthing and landed on his neck. haha i want to be just like that when i get that old

Hope you don't come up short. At 29 comming up short and fucking my self up would be not good, as I would be out of work for quite some time. I ususally try to keep my jumps up 60 ft or so. Thats big enough for me.

A couple of days ago at Whistler an "older" dude said to me and my friend " I know you guys will still be doing this when you are 50 right?!" and We both said "hells yea!" and he just said "drop in" and threw a sketchy but grabbed 360 off the bigger jump. Pretty cool I guess hope im that guy in the future!

I hit my first box's at age 49. Last year I learned to slide a low rail, and I spun a 360 on a small rainbow box I love trying new things. I don't ever want to slow down! Course I'm in the park with my kids and their friends, so that makes it fun.
