PETA is protesting The Hobbit

apparently 27 animals died/got killed during the making of the movie. so PETA is all up in that shit and is going to be protesting the premiere and such. fun stuff. At least we'll know not everything is CGI if a horse gets killed in the film.

no i highly doubt it. all the fuss is more over where the animals were being held than actual shots for the movie. the landscape is just dangerous in general. Also, when animals die in movies it is almost always fake. They don't just execute animals when it comes to their scene in the movie.

PETA never will accomplish anything regardless of whatever moral high ground they occupy. They are always finding enemies and pissing people off. I agree with a lot of the stuff they stand for, but the way they conduct themselves is immensely counter-productive.

Seriously, PETA goes out of their way to find stuff to protest. They just want exposure. And to the guy who said he helped get fur for the movie, if that is true, that is very cool. But I am having doubts.

Someday I'm going to send a box of animal crackers with all of the heads eaten off to PETA. I'm also thinking about sending a video of my dog not eating fancy specialized dog food while I eat a steak and have a cut off chicken leg under my foot. The second one was my friend's idea and he did it and he got signed up to their newsletter

i mean, what can they do otherwise? like make a post on their website and say "this movie is bad because animals died during the production" in font-size 12?

no, they have to go apeshit to be even heard and thats a good thing. i seriously dont like when greenpeace or PETA guys approach me on the street and try to talk me into it, but at least they are doing something for our environment (and obviously for money, but thats not really an argument) while i do 0.

keep that in mind. dont discredit someone for actually trying to make a difference when you do nothing.

i love how whenever PETA mentions animals getting treated poorly everyone gets all up in arms at them (PETA). What do you expect them to do, that's what their organization is about. It's not like they're even wrong about it, the animals did die so you guys get all butt hurt because they brought it to light? It takes a real bad ass to talk shit on an organization trying to stand up for fair treatment of animals....

yeah exactly this. i support a lot of different organizations from doctors to artists but PETA is just a bunch of annoying pricks that don't really do anything except protest stuff (in this case, nature) and they don't deserve anything more than a big fart in their direction for what they've actually done for the treatment of animals.

I mean seriously. They think that we shouldn't eat animals. We were built to eat meat along with plants. Should Tigers or any predator be protested by peta? Cause they kill things. Its fucked when people totally disregard animals well being and treat them like shit. Maybe grapes and carrots have feelings that are locked away from our capability to process so we should just stop eating everything.

I was reading that there were 150 animals at this farm where the hobbit was keeping horses and such. There happened to be bluffs and the horses and mules that died, died from walking or running of the bluffs or falling into holes. Its natural selection. Most of the deaths were chickens apparently not sure how though.

first of all the movie was kinda cool but different. clearly the trolls did only capture the poor ponys, but gandalf and bilbio saved them, before the trolls manage to eat them, then they ran into the forest.
