Going another year without Twintips

Ok, so here's the deal, last year was my first year skiing park, so I didn't bother getting twintips in case I didn't enjoy it. I had loads of fun and by the end of the season could 90 a box and do sloppy 3's, so this year I was looking forward towards getting some Chronics. Unfortunately that kind of fell through and I don't have the money to afford them.

So, right now I have a pair of Salomon Tornado's from 2010 that I rode last year and a pair of 150 CM Volkl RTM Jr's from a few seasons ago. Selling them to make money is out of the question because my parents don't believe in Internet transactions, and I already had to fight to keep my dad from giving away the RTM's to my cousin who won't grow into them for a few more years.

I will likely use the RTM's for park because they are lighter and less likely to catch the tails in the snow if I end up switch compared to the tornado's. I'm 5'7 so they are pretty small for me though. Will I be able to progress much more with just these?

If you cant get a pair for Xmass let me know, i have a pair i would be willing to give up if its not possible for you to get some with your dad. Good luck! hope you get out there and have a great season.

Sounds like a similar predicament I was in about 5 years ago when i was just starting out as well. Congrats man, I hope you have a great time out skiing this season. Keep it up.

Get the El Reys
they are quite cheap and work well in the park and out.

You can probably get some from like two years ago so theyll be cheap but nothing apart from the graphic has changed recently so they will have the same performance as this years model

Bump, about a month and a half and ago got some 155 Fischer Prodigys for cheap.

At 5'6" they are a bit (very) short for me, but they'll work for the rest of the season. They ski very well though and I'm getting pretty good at skiing switch.

Thats awesome man! Keep showing your parents how dedicated to the sport you are and that will be how they won't feel bad buying (or in my case allowing me to buy) more expensive gear. Dedication and love for the sport will justify any money they spend, or see spent.

Can't agree more. I have absolutely no problem throwing hundreds of dollars (if I have it) towards skiing each year and then just living off ramen noodles and fast food. It makes me happy and I do it enough where it's worth the investment. People say money doesn't buy happiness but if it can buy me a pair of skis, that's pretty much the same thing in my book.

Yeah Surface is a good way to go. super cheap. Checked used demo skis from your local hills.
