Best exercise for skiing

Hey guys,

It's come round to that time of year again. I am getting hyped and ready for skiing as I'm sure many of you are.

I have been doing exercise at the gym and at home and I was wondering what the best exercise for skiing is?e.g. what kind of things can you do squats, push ups sit ups...

everything..stay in good shape and youll be good, tumbling is also another good way to practice when there is no snow

I normally start by spreading lube all over my legs, hips, chest, ect. Then I start with my medium-weight dildos, and work my way up.

Leg Blasters! mini is 10 squats, 10 lunges, 10 jump lunges, 5 squat jumps, then a full is 20 20 20 10. So do a mini the first monday, the next monday do 9 mini 1 full the next monday 8 minis and 2 full and so on and so on

Squats on a bosu ball, squating down with a weight vest or any kind of weight, then jumping as hard as you can both up and forward. also lunges are great.

lately, I've been going on trail runs with a back pack and ones you get to a steep hill, you through some rocks in making the pack weigh about 20 pounds. this is killer on your quads and knees especially when you do lunges up a vary steep hill. ones you get to the top, dump out the rocks and run down the hill again. the running provides some impact on your knees and helps develop those stabilizing muscles in your feet and ankles.

dude alot of people do crazy workouts like that , I used to do hill runs all the time when I ran track.

I would say kettlebells would be the best because its all stabilizer, core and legs. PM me for some good kettlebell routines /basics.

really? pounding your knees on purpose is a good workout for skiing?

and no, running with weight will cause much more harm than good. wanna run with resistance? do hill sprints.

i did not say to run with all those rocks on your back. i said to do long, static lunges up a step hill, DUMP THE ROCKS OUT and run back down. and putting stress on your knees is not a bad thing. absolutely bounding and fucking your knees is bad but steady impact helps to strengthen tendons and cartilage in your knees.

no running downhill is good for your bones and muscles. You wouldnt want to run with weight downhill like he said, only uphill. we did that exact same work out all the time in the preseason when i was on the backcountry program at a ski academy. Hike up to the top of the mountain with a some water or rocks in your backpack. Dump them out at the top and run all the way back down. Its a different work out than hill sprints, your not running up hill, just hiking really fast.

I stick to the four Ps and never have to touch a weight: Planks, Plyo, Push-ups, and Pull-ups... Roman chair and warrior squat-holds are great for legs too but i don't do them nearly as often, probably 2-3 times per week... Stretch for 10-15min before, if you're going hard 2 supersets of each exercise takes another 10-15min, stretch for 20-30min after, fuck bitches, get money, repeat

you do realize, running down hill and pounding on your knees degenerates the cartilage, right? it will also inflame and irritate ligaments and tendons.

if you want to strengthen tendons and ligaments, you want to strain and grind through low rep heavy weight stuff. As for strengthening cartilage...lol.


But hey, what do i know. keep pounding your knees, and keeping your cartilage "healthy and strong"

wall sits while on NS on my laptop.

Road biking up steep ass hills when the weather's nice.

and sit ups and v sits inside when its raining.

also one legged squats for knee stability.
