Depends which mountain you want to go to but I know Mount Snow and Killington have some really great deals that include lift tickets if you go on their websites and look at "lodging deals" or something like that
This! Besides the lodge/hostel they have 3 houses in town that I've rented multiple times. They are fully set up for 6-15 people, and just ghetto enough you don't have to worry about trashing them too much.
Sad to report Grampa passed away this summer, but the lodge will live on!
The cabins at stowe. It's about 10 minutes down the road from stowe. It's a pack of about a dozen nice little cabins that sleep about 6 or 8 to the tune of about 12 or 140 a night. I've stayed there multiple times and it's always great. Plus they have tons of cool shit to explore their woods with like sleds and snowshoes and shit. Legit little cabins, not dirt cheap but about as expensive as a lodge hotel room and its your own whole little cabin with kitchen and porch and shit.
I can confirm that spraying champagne everywhere and a lot of general partying was tolerated. Of course, we cleaned up after though as don't want to disrespect Grampa!
primarily the ticket price. a nice deal for a vacationer at sugarbush is the 4 pack for 199, or essentially 50 dollars a day with no blackouts. Just looking at the stowe site quickly shows a 7day pass for 525, or 75 a day, also no black out.
Besides tickets, I wouldn't ski stowe because of the major wait you tend to encounter on weekends/holidays.
Final reason is because stowe is the only East Coast resort that does not allow reciprocal resort employee lift tickets.
I had stayed there once with a group of snowboarding friends. They had found a coupon in transworld for a three day lift ticket to stowe for 99 bucks. We all gobbled up every magazine we could find and slammed guest services with like 6 coupons at once haha.
Are you from Vermont?? Ya seem a bit picky about resorts. Come ski the mid atlantic and try to tell me about long ass liftlines.
Also I stayed there once to ski Bolton as well so there's that.
without a doubt thats a sick deal you all had from that magazine. surprised to hear of it to be honest.
I'm not from Vermont, south of albany NY. Grew up skiing Jiminy peak mostly. I'm not very picky about resorts at all, to be honest i'm just anti-stowe for the aforementioned reasons. I had a season pass there a few years ago, and the mountain is good, but the corporation sucks a fat one and I don't ever want to support it.
Bolton is good fun for sure, nice to have the night skiing option.
That basement has been hosting ragers since forever. Haven't found it yet, but apparently my dad's name is carved into the wall down there somewhere from when he used to go in his 20's.
I'll say it again, NS should organize a seasonal rental somewhere in VT, 18+ or 21+ to go however due legalities, 20$ a night allowed to bring a limited amount of friends if they pay as well, as long as everyone's respectful, treats the house like their own, and is honest signing in and out every time you go spend a night/ making sure you pay... we would have a really great season.
