looking to pick this up next couple days looking to get some opinions first because the last couple halo's werent that good

been playing a bunch last couple days, my biggest issue is the lack of weapon spawns. sniping is pretty much nonexistent. seems like they want to limit it or something, but it really takes away a lot of the fun in the bigger maps. i do like how the new sniper has some recoil so its not so ridiculously easy to shoot.

The binary rifle is just plain stupid. 1 hit and an automatic kill, granted I love picking one up because its like an instant killing spree. But it is really way too good.

This. The Binary rifle is stupidly lethal. Though have you had sniper with damage boost? Same ordeal. I want my damn power ups in shiny orbs around the map. It's way more fun to try and control the active camo spawn rather than have some johnny jack off running around with a fucking one hit kill..

On that note. I do like the game. Yes, it's not halo 3 but I dont think anything ever will be. The ordinance drops are kinda sweet but the lack of guns on map is distressing. Over all 7.4/10

Just finished the campaign. I was entertained the whole time, and I am a fanboy of the series in general (I have played since the first one came out), but I am not sure how much re-playability it has. The game jumps around a lot too. In the first two, you will have specific objectives, and have one large map, but here, you finish one objective, cue cutscene, and then you are thrown in to another area.

Also, some of the missions are too much like arcade games. For example, the level where you pilot the broadsword. Halo 1 and 2 were epic, Halo 3, almost as good, and it went a bit downhill from there. Like I said, I still enjoyed it, but the story got a bit more ridiculous as well. Alsmost as if they were running out of ideas.

I feel that the online will be amazing though. I don't know if my sentences are coherent here.

i like the sprint. the other halos were so fucking slow and boring cause you walked everywhere. it was like some idiotic kids case for tards

i can go on that game and run train on bitches so easy

He was talking about your kill-death spread, which is what they measure in the game, because kill/death ratio doesn't actually measure shit. You could go 2-1 in every game you play and end up with a 2.0 K/D, but still suck massive dick at the game. Just sayin...

Yes, I realize he typed out K/D, but anyone with half a brain should have realized what he was talking about.

general comment about halo:

having a radar that tells your where enemies are is the dumbest shit ever. it completely takes away that you can't sneak up on an idiot not looking around and it leads to people sitting in corners w a shotgun blasting you as you round the corner. so fucking annoying. how can anyone call a game competitive when you have a radar that causes everyone to wait or something similar for each other to round the corner.

have you ever played halo? The gameplay doesn't allow you to do that. That setup has worked for them since 2001.

yo i need the red x back. i get so paranoid when i hear a death near me, especially in swat, and im not sure if someones shooting at one of my teammates and im next or my teammate just won a gun battle.

I don't get this.

Its not hard to keep an eye on your team's markers. If you see "so-and-so was killed by so-and-so" and teammates marker is no longer there, it probably means he died.

All the plasma kills I have so far save for like 2 are from sticking vehicles or getting lucky and sticking a Warthog right on the post that is next to the gunner in the back and the driver.

The campaign is a huge disappointment. Nothing like any of the other halos. The halo series has been absolutely amazing and this game is just garbage.

I hated this game on day one, but it is growing on me. It has potential, but if 343 doesn't something about the map situation I think a lot of people will stop playing. A game on complex plays completely different than a game on haven or adrift or haven. Maps playing differently can add excitement and variety to the game, but sprint breaks these maps. Way too many people get rewarded for sprinting around and it is way to easy to escape death.

343 either needs to adopt the long range play the DMR has created and make more maps like complex, relay, and settler, or get rid of the DMR and sprint and make maps like like adrift and haven. Either choice will make the game good, but I don't like the inbetweenness of the play style. Plus the BR is useless, and they need to add settler and relay into matchmaking. My 2cents.

I went with Halo over Black Ops II. I never was a fan of the Treyarch COD games. This is by far my favorite Halo game yet, and probably my second favorite game ever behind Modern Warfare 2. Halo 4 is much faster paced than previous games, and all of the team slayer maps are small which gives it COD feel because there is lots of killing and shots. I feel like this new Halo took the best parts from previous COD and Halo games and made a terrific game.

Go buy it. You won't regret it.

I wouldn't say garbage, but it is disappointing a bit. Way too short, and they tried to do too much with it. I am excited for multiplayer (which i will start when my semester is over), but from what I can tell from friends and gameplay vids, Gnartron is right. It still seems fun, but they should keep going with what made halo popular in the first place. There is no originality in copying other people's work.

Take away the BR from SWAT. They nerfed it long range, so it's just stupid to have it in the game.

I rarely in all my years of playing halo have run into a guy camping corners with a shot gun or sword just watching the radar and the thing is if there is a kid doing it cool run back to the spot throw a couple grenades or an energy drain in there and they are dead pretty easy to counter a camper in halo.

What I've always enjoyed about halo, is all the maps give you a chance to pick people of from insane long range or ambush a person close quarters...its fun to be able to fire 4 pulls of the trigger into a guys head from across the map for a head shot....thats what i've always disliked about CoD is they seem to force close quarter shit storms on all their maps and I like CoD too.

Beat the campaign this week, I thought it was satisfying, defiantly a good follow up to 3.

I really enjoy the muliplayer. I fucking hated Reach, and Loved Halo 3 and it seems they found a little bit of a balance. Defiantly took a lot out of CODs play book, but whatever. I think the ordinance drops work well

The red X needs to come back,
Swat and Snipers need to be permanently on the playlist.
some of the armor abilities are retarded (hard shield, jet pack)

Overall its the best Halo game since Halo 3 (arguably better)
