when i was young and dumb i was racing a gsx down a 4 lane one way road in the middle of rush hour traffic. suddenly a lady in a mini-van goes to cross the 4 lane road without realizing that two cars are rushing at her at probably close to 80-100 mph. (she's crossing from the right side of the road to the left.) i'm in the middle right lane, the gsx is in the middle left lane. she pulls out in front of us and there's no way we're going to slow down in time...i look left and see that all four of his tires are locked up and he's just sliding straight towards her. i cut to the far right lane in hopes that she's going to at least clear one lane of traffic before things get ugly...the gsx follows my lead and takes my position in the middle right lane. i'm 2 inches from the right curb...the gsx's mirrors are 2 inches from my driver's side, and his driver's side mirror is 2 inches from the back of her bumper. somehow we managed to squeeze through behind her thus avoiding a t-bone collision at high speeds.
as soon as it happened, the guy that i'm racing and i look at each other like holy fucking shit...that was close!!! biggest adrenaline rush of my life....my hands were shaking soooo fucking bad. we then head straight for the state lines as the cops were most certainly notified by someone as we're in rush hour traffic. dip outta the state so as to avoid a trip to jail.
now save your breath, i know it was fucking stupid, reckless, idiotic, unsafe, and much much more. i was young, dumb, and thought i was invincible. it was a good reality check. no more street racing for this guy.
another close call was when i was driving in a snow storm one a four land road with two lanes of traffic going each direction. there was a nice S bend in the road in which i managed to lose traction, and my car starts to spin. once again rush hour traffic. somehow i manage to keep the car on the right side of the road, spin a complete 360, and drive off like a fucking boss without hitting anything or anyone.
