Apple Announcement - October 23, 2012

I'm pretty excited for this one. There is no great new thing, as far as I know, just some updated stuff, but it should be good. From the rumors, could be iPad mini, new iMacs (thats whats I'm most excited for), retina display in 13 inch macbook.

And are they going to talk about how their maps sucks? I still havnt updated to iOS 6 because of it.

I hear people say that, but I have used the new map app a ton and it's never given me a bad direction. So maybe it's only in certain areas?

I have just heard it is very slow. I even did a speed test and my phone was so much faster. His just show a black grid.

that said, apple stuff is just simpler. for example. everything is either a pc or an itouch is different sizes.

Apple maps SUCK. I travel a decent amount and using the new map app is miserable. There have been three times in the past 3 weeks where it literally couldn't find a route to where i needed to go. No possible route. I had driven it before so luckily I just winged it, but if I was in a completely new area, I would have been fucked. Also, searching for local businesses is terrible.

Yea they're unveiling the iPad mini, with it's revolutionary 7" screen.

What a waste, it'd be more efficient to tape 2 ipods together.

Yes they do....arrow bottom left almost identical to Google maps.

Maps is definitely better than Google maps. I don't have to stare at my phone while I'm driving, it's faster and more accurate (down to feet), and it's more vesatile (overview, turn by turn, time/distance to next turn). After using it exclusively on a few long weekend trips I'm very happy with it.

I thought this event should have had way more hype than the iPhone one. New iMacs look dope. Interested to hear more about the Fusion Drive.
