Atheism... Why do it?

1. Atheists really enjoy being smarter and more rational than everyone else. Have you noticed that about Atheists? I have.

2. Atheists tend to be haters who don't believe in anything. You get excited about something cool and they are always all skeptical, asking lots of critical questions, and basically kill the positive energy.

3. They love reading Reddit.com, which is a perfectly good site (never been), but they get all smug about how Reddit is better than other sites. Like is there some rule that if you don't worship the real God, you have to worship Reddit instead?!? WTF?

4. Atheists love to mock hard working, religious Americans who love their kids, work hard, and go to church.

5. Atheists think they are rational and scientific but isn't it more rational and open minded to say that God *might* exist? Should real scientists keep an open mind?

6. Atheists are some of the biggest trolls on the Internet. They will probably start trolling me just for writing this post.

7. Atheists are the kind of people who enjoy telling small children that Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, and the Easter Bunny are all fake. Thanks for ruining all the fun, atheist! I guess you think a 5 year old knowing “the truth” is more important than them having a happy childhood.

8. They just suck. You don't even need a reason. It is obvious. Just accept it.

...on a side note to this thread, some of my religious revelations through psilocibin about our universal reality has made me come to ponder that the life we live in is what matters, and the future after death is not on a need to know basis as whatever IS actually after the human experience, its must still be there even if we cannot conceive of it yet. I predict extradimensional planes for existence are real and accessible, but the reason for why we cant comprehend or even confirm these is the same basic principal of answering a question that cannot be answered.

agnosticism is the answers. humans are incapable of knowing whether or not a god exists, or whether a particular religion is truly the "right" one.

quality post OP. i agree with you that many atheists tend to be very stuck-up condescending pricks who think they are above everyone else because of their beliefs. I have nothing against atheism or any religion for that matter but atheists seem like the only ones who feel the need to disprove everyone else's beliefs and call people stupid simply because of something that improves their own lives in most cases. just my 2 cents

Will not pretend to have read much of this thread; was raised Roman Catholic, but as you grow up, it becomes harder and harder to believe in a God. You were nothing before you were born, why would you be something after you die? It;s nice to think that there is a life after death, but there is 0 proof that there is such a thing. (not to be a downer)

I don't get how anyone on here can seriously say that atheist are arrogant when religious people are the most arrogant of them all. If you are a christian you believe that your doctrine is infallible and that if someone doesn't believe in it they are going to be tortured in fire for an eternity. All atheist really advocate for collectively is maintaining our secular government and not teaching junk science in school.

Also its not called a god believer its called a deist. And atheists dull and boring? give me a break.

Please read the sentence I just quoted. I wouldn't say all atheists are any more arrogant than all christians, there are a fuck ton of arrogant assholes belonging to each ideal. Just quit trying to deal with absolutes, you can't say christianity is the most arrogant of all belief systems because you end up sounding like an arrogant jerk off yourself.

I honestly can't understand why people are so concerned with trying to prove their beliefs are better than someone else's, let people do what they want to do.

I don't idolize the Soviets. I just recognize that the Soviet Union improved the material conditions for the reproduction of daily life for millions of people and was a progressive force in the Third World. And when the Soviet Union was dissolved by counter-revolutionary liberal/fascist murders, millions died from the shock of liberalization, crime and human trafficking increased, poverty skyrocketed and living standards in all former SSR's are lower today than they were under the USSR.
