And it sent his team to OT where they later won the game. Still not a record, apparently some kid hit a 68 yarder in 85.

Plenty on College scores like that as well nobody plays defense anymore. Hell WVU gave up 120 points in 2 games and won both.

First of all I would like to say that this is a sick kick,

but the reason field goals this far are rare in the NFL is because you gotta kick it real low for it to go in. Usually field goals are like chip shots where you gotta get it over the line to keep it from being blocked. Long field goals in the NFL are almost always blocked for this reason. Not because they are a retarded feat to accomplish.

I guess he's not even a good kicker. Kicks far but misses a lot, and apparently there was a ton of wind at the game helping him out. This is all coming from my friend who already has a D1 scholarship for kicking.

This. It's a lot harder for an NFL kicker to kick through a bunch of 6'6" Dudes with monkey arms. Also in Highschool they kick off a flat tee for field goals, makes it easier to hit the sweet spot. Still regardless it is very impressive.

Even more props to him!!! I just watched the video (at work so couldnt see the one in the thread) Pretty sweet!  I was just stating that you can kick off a tee in HS which is an advantage.

That kid lives in the same town as me. It's crazy how quickly the story blew up it was on sportscenter about and hour after it happened and was on the today show this morning. My highschool plays them next Friday haha wish us luck
