The Disco Biscuits

Anybody out there dig them? I used to be a big fan. Rarely ever see them though. Bumpin some old shows right now and feelin good.

After seeing the 3 shows last weekend it made me kind of sad. Had a great time, but I wish that band hadn't changed so much. I never got to see them with sammy on drums, and for the most part that's the only disco biscuits I like. They used to be a jamband with some electro built in. Now they play nothing but the untz it seems. Also barber can't shred like he used to but that happens to bands. It's just strange that they changed their direction so vastly.

Anybody hit bmore or city bisco last weekend? Anyone hit camp over the summer or doing nye? I'll probably be at moe. but the phish>biscuits NYE looks like fun.

theabortionatorYeah man doing 6 cheese shows as soon as i get back east as well. Missed a TON of good music this summer and trying to make up for it. Usually not big on the destination holiday shows but it works out this time at least for halloween.

Hoping for some winter tours. Pissed i missed a few moe. And biscuits shows i could have hit in feb. Was so busy working in the park had comps and what not and made the big boy but 100% wrong decision not to go lol.

My nye run seats are almost all uppers but theyre dead center. My night 2s are right next to page though.

Unfortunately there is no way im selling them for face. They'll be face plus fees and a mandatory beer or hi five.


Lol i feel you man. I missed out on like all the best fests this year because of my externship. It sucked my buddies hit up Peach fest and Catskill Chill without me which is fine but i was pretty bummed at the time haha.

lol I would love to go man and will definitely buy a round of brews. Thing is I'm looking for like 3-4 tickets iv never seen a nye run show and would have to bring the crew to that momentous occasion especially because the last of the crew turns 21 on christmas day.

Right I think its funny how he just like grouped everyone together. I'm not the biggest fan, I mean iv seen 8-10 sets over the course of last 3 camp biscos but i still enjoy them. I was thinking though- you kinda just did the same thing he with Biscuits fans with Phish?


It was more the point I was trying to make, as if the Biscuits and Phish scenes are that much different. There's fine, upstanding citizens alongside degenerates in the entire Jamband scene. I know plenty of normal people who listen to both, and I also know plenty of dirty wooks who listen to both.

Bullshit. Biscuits have a way higher ratio of dirty NoX wooks than any other crowd I've seen. Phish, Cheese, Moe. all have the kind of Wooks I trust not to steal things from me or give me bad drugs. Biscuit fans from personal observation always seem to be sketchy as fuck. Like a WAY higher percentage of them. Sure, some of them are standup people, but the percentage of sketch ballers that follow Biscuits around is obscenely high.

twiddle is imo the next best jamband on the planet. of course im incredibly biased cause i get to see mickey and zdenek play every week, but the dudes in twiddle are super real, down to earth homies, they definitely deserve all the hype surrounding them

I tried getting into Twiddle and couldn't do it. They were at 3 festivals I attended this year (moe.down, The Hudson Project and Catskill Chill) for a combined 6 sets and I still couldn't... :/

Havent had a chance to see them live yet, but I can't get past their singer sounding almost exactly like Dave Mathews.

Theyre pretty good but still way overhyped imo. Theres a giant hype train surrounding them these days. Knew it would happen but i think the hype is ahead of the band.

Just my ,02. That said theyre def going somewhere.


Also twiddle and the biscuits arent even close.

haha mihali was a HUGE dave fan growing up, like almost religiously, its funny cause the reason i enjoy twiddle so much is because of the similarities to dave. a few years ago i used to be a strictly dmb fan like ive gone to 30-some shows, but once i was introduced to twiddle i started getting into the jam scene more and fell in love with phish, cheese, umphs, and biscuits. so its kinda awesome how this tiny band from vermont introduced me to these epic acts like biscuits and phish. just another reason why i love twiddle.

I cant stand Dave Mathews. I do not understand why people like him so much. His voice is monotonic, he sucks at guitar, and his lyrics are mediocre at best. Is it because ue wears birkenstocks?

its just the music i grew up on more than anything. Also DMB comes to my hometown every single summer so his concert used to be like the night of the year back in high school. that being said i can totally understand where you are coming from, dave is a good songwriter, but his voice and guitar skills certainly lack, the rest of the band is pretty much on point tho, carter is nasty at drums and im a huge jeff coffin fan from his days playing with bela fleck

Same thing here too... Where do you think they got the name? Want to fax me some?

Also Twiddle and the Magic Beans = 17th tier hambands. Never understood the hype surrounding those two, although I do agree they are talented. Twiddle is better.

Just bought a 4 day pass for bisCO.

It'll have been almost 3 years since I saw them. Not that I really saw them that much.

Been bumping disc 2 of the wind at four to fly on the way to and from work out here.

Missing Aura but getting to see moe, bisco, and the heavy pets in CO within a couple months. Good enough for me.

Halloween was a blast. Other than Bisco Inferno last spring, I hadn't seen them in 2 or 3 years.

They're playing a lot better than they were a couple years ago as well. Or at least it seemed like it.

Might try to get down to NYC for one of the nights of the NYE run. Can't really get away for more than a night as that'll be a super busy week at the mountain.
