^^^ the un would not sign on to the US drafted resolution about two months or more ago that labeled the 'conflict' (its not really a conflict, more like a massacre) the final decision from the UN, under pressure from the sudaneese ambasador, was not to accept the resolution, and they ended up sending AU troops to handle the situation. we offered, they said no.

i didnt read alot of this, but props on surviving over there and all that jazz.

however, i think it is one hell of a backwards -ass war. terrrorist hate america for exactly this reason. we think its our right to go fuck with everyone. we try to be the world's police force. we do not respect other countries freedoms. if we dont think what they are doing is right, than tough shit, we dont have the right to interfere. and this goes way beyond military issues. how bout the fact that there is a McDonalds Fuckin Everywhere now. american corperations have shipped work overseas, and in turn brought with them american culture. just cause we like american culture doesnt mean every other country does or should have to. thats the thing. to them, america is just trying to rob them of thier identy, and make them into a little american clone where they can produce GAP clothes at next to nothing. its fuckin wrong, and i completely understand why terrorist hate america- i would too if i was in thier boat. and fuck bush, we dont need a president whos not scared of war- thats the worst kind. someone whos smart enough to keep us out of trouble in the first place is way better. im not saying kerry is that man by any means, but hes at least a little bit better than bush.

yeah, but thats whats happening. IRAQ didnt attack us. bush realized he wasnt gonna catch bin laden (might be becasue he is good friends with the bin ladens? ) so he just slowly shiffted attention to iraq, which was his daddies war. he just wanted to make dad proud. shure, they arnt the nices place around, but they didnt have WMD and they werent planning anything aghinst us. somehow tho, there are all sorts of countries with WMDS that are runnin around unregulated.

Fuck I hate the word terrorism. If you were in Palestineâ€™s situation you would be a 'terrorist'. You have absolutely no idea about what it feels like to be Palestinian (I'm not claiming that I do, either). You can't judge how you would react in a circumstance without having been in that circumstance, raised in that circumstance, born into that circumstance. (side note: I support Israel, but for reasons different than yours).

And, um, saying that 'anyway, the Jews were there first' is sort of silly as well, considering that the Hebrews had to slaughter a bunch of people to 'get there first' in the first place (source cited: the Old Testament). According to your logic, we should divide up the world according to which religious group was 'there first?'

Now, I'm confused about this whole dictatorship thing and this whole invasion thing. Are you saying that U.S. foreign policy should be to plan the invasion of every country ruled by 'a dictator?' How do we determine what a dictator is? Is it physically possible for the U.S. to do so? If it isn't, should we even 'find a good place to start' if a finish is impossible? Wouldn't it be very easy to abuse our new license to kill?

And here's my view on the whole dictatorship think: it's a bit harsh, a bit callous, but this is how I feel.

Know what? I'm sure it absolutely sucked living in Iraq under Saddam Hussein. I'm sure it blew fucking balls. But I don't think it's my job to go get the monkey off of someone else's back. That's THEIR OWN job. The only way that a new government is going to work is if the PEOPLE OF IRAQ want that government bad enough to create it for themselves. It's not the U.S.'s job to solve Iraq's problems any more than it is our job to solve France's problems (and don't try to make a WWII comparison unless you want to bring on the heat, because the two situations are not at all similar).

Seems once I start talking, I just can't stop. My view on the 'liberator' v. 'occupier' argument: I don't consider anyone a liberator when he still walks the street in full body armor and a loaded gun over a year after he liberated your country. I don't recall U.S. soldiers patrolling Paris after WWII.

When we went to war with afghanistan it was justified to the fullest extent...there were actual terrorists that were staying within afghani borders in addition to the whole alqaeda base... Iraq never attacked us.. had destroyed all chemical and biological weapons.. when us troops entered iraq a huge demoralization occured as Saddam informed his generals that he had no chemical or bioglogical weapons... so indeed we should have gone into afghanistan there was a true enemy and a true public that needed to be liberated. Sure saddam was a bad guy but his country was in better order than it is now... if you dont believe me pick up last weeks time magazine and read it would do good to all you ill informed people who support the bush led war in iraq including you punk rider

i have respect for the soldiers that gave their lives in Iraq and Afghanistan...and i am the first person to give them credit. However, they were acting upon orders of a man who went in, without UN consent, into a country that posed no immediate threat AND it was on a false pretense. Weapons Inspectors had returned twice, saying that there were no WMDs in Iraq...and he STILL ordered troops in. im sorry it just seems incredibly wasteful. but congrats on surviving.
