tail and nose presses
hey does anyone have any advice on how to do these, i was trying them yesterday but i wasn't too successful
i cant do them at all. i've tried but i got my ass kicked

for your first ones, don't try to land directly in tail or nose press because that is real hard. first coming on to a fun box at an angle and go from normal rail to tail or nose and get the feel for leaning forward or back. then bring it to a triple urban kink rail and do it fist try
it's all about weight distribution
i lipslide and lean hella far back...
plus yuo need to get yuor speed right so you dont pound the rail

You really have to think about wieght displacement. Seriously. You dont need to be on the very tip or tail of your skis when pressing because its not very possible just yet. I find tailpresses way easier. get onto the rail for starters, straighten your legs and slid your feet away from you at the same time. While doing this squawt down like your takin the fattest shit sitting on the toliet and you will perform a pretty solid tail press. WORD

by straightning out your legs your toes will push away from the rail, and sitting down at the same time will keep you from falling off that side....

first start out by sliding with the rail under your binding toe or heel (depending on what you want to do) and then from there keep pushing it further and further. big key is keeping your weight centered over the rail, which means leaning either forward or backward a lot.

would having real soft skis like the scratches make it easier or harder to do presses?
yeah, it would. also, if your edges are detuned for rails, chances are your not gonna have it detuned all the way down past the bindings. so, take something and detune your edges a little bit on your frontside edges. and to start off, find a nice easy double barrel. when you go to slide, slide your feet out (to either side) and keep your wieght centered. for nose presses, you should be in the gay prison bitch stance, and for tails, its the taking a dump stance. landing on a rail while pressing is definatly doable. i do them all the time, but they are super tech. most of the time you just end up sliding off the rail.
