Alcoholics?

Story of my life is, basically I was wondering if im an alcoholic. All the people I party/hang with say I need to get help but im skeptical. So heres my situation. When I wake up in the morning i dont crave to drink. I mean i like to drink when Im partying but the last 3 partys I have been to I have blacked out and its happening more and more often and in a row. I mean one time i shit in a sink when I was blacked out. Should i get help?

I highly recommend reading Craig Ferguson's autobiography. He says in it that he didn't crave a drink but when he drank he couldn't control himself

Ending black out at 3 party in a row isn't like getting wasted every night and having problem to stop doing it...that's more what alcoholism is about. Just learn your limits and watch how fast you're drinking.

If I take myself for exemple, I realise I just can't take many shots and chug beers in a short laps of time... I automaticly black-out (a bit like you), but I have no problem drinking a lot over long period (like 2 beers/1h-1h30 for 6-7-8h).

I'm the same in that I never want to stop drinking. I've learned this and it has taken me years to do so. I never have any hard liqour because it is so easy to get out of hand.

Stick with beer man. Also, only bring enough beers to get yourself in a good state.

I was on the liquor Thursday night an someone told me there were n*ggers in my roof so I broke a cieling panel and smashed my head through some Sheetrock and tried to pull down the support beams you're fine. And them I threatened to catch him with a beartrap according to eyewitness reports

I've blacked out twice, its the worst feeling ever. Waking up in the hospital was horrifying. Makes me never want to drink again. Plus mostly all alcohol tastes like complete shit, can't stand any of it.

if you got health insurance go to a doctor to check your liver out see what your level of scarring is if you have any, i know some really young people with cirrosis etc. doesnt mean you have it or not but be proactive about checking yourself out if you can

guess what, so are you. people will joke and say you're just in college blah, blah, blah. that's all well and good, but it doesn't change the fact that you're no longer in control at this point. been there myself. when it gets to the point where you're blacking out regularly...multiple times a week, it's time to take heed.
now i won't sit here and tell you to quit drinking. i know i wouldn't have listened to it at all when i was at that stage of my alcoholism. just beware, it's not going to get better if you keep on the path that you're on. you'll ruin friendships, make an ass of yourself, etc. hopefully that's the least of it. hopefully you don't end up in a car and with a dui...getting arrested...etc.

ultimately, it comes down to drinking less. i know for me it was hard liquor. i can down vodka like it's water....literally. it's almost disturbing to see. however, over time i was able to ease up on it...it became easier as i got older. just gotta slow er down a notch. good luck dude.

It depends how often you drink. Can you control how many drinks you have or does it get out of hand quick? Alcohol is more addictive than cocaine so be careful guys don't get into the habit of getting drunk every night. Getting smashed over three times a week would be pushing it (thats my opinion). I stick to under twice a week at most. Once you are addicted, you are addicted for life. Alcoholism is very hard to quit once addicted since it is a physical addiction. Your body can be so dependent on the drug that your body will start to shut down because of withdrawal. Those are severe cases though. Be smart and don't become an alcoholic.
