No, TGR crashes are way gnarlier. There's a pretty big difference between tomakawking down 3000 feet of rock and ice and falling on some rails. Sorry bud.

it depends. some of the crashes in TGR films look fucking insane, especially when they almost slam into rocks, and get buried by slides. however, crashing on sketchy urban setups can be just as dangerous, especially with concrete landings, and the fucking car that almost hit LJ in Sunny.

i'm sure the stept guys have taken way nastier falls, but i think the "fall of the week" is for entertainment, not to scare the shit out of kids and discourage urban skiing.

My bad. I was thinking of Tim McCheesney doing that huge switch 2 on after the Scandinavian police officers said "we would just like to watch".

He lands switch and almost rides into moving traffic, hockey stopping just before hitting a car passing by on the street.

Now thats fucking dangerous

While I do agree with you on some level I just don't think you can compare urban to big mountain in terms of danger. Just look at the track record: Doug Coombs, billy Poole, Shane mcconkey, c.r Johnson, Arne backstorm, Jamie Pierre....the list goes on and on. All of these guys died riding big mountains. People don't really die sliding rails. Also, check out this video and tell me it's not gnarlier than any urban crash you've seen.

Most often when people die skiing backcountry it's due to avalanches, they are both gnarly and can be both be very dangderous

^ya sorry that's just not true. Its about 50/50. Look at the list I posted...Shane, c.r., Arne, and Doug were all killed by falls. Here's another one you probably haven't heard of- rayan hawks- I watched him die during a freeskiing comp at alyeska. Tumbled through rocks and was dead before ski patrol got to him. Just check out the list of chamonix skiing related deaths. It will boggle your mind. And they sure as hell didn't die jumping around on rails.....

Not all the time. They look pretty violent, but I found big mountain crashes to be scarier. Unless you slam into rocks, cliffs or trees, the ride down can be pretty safe.

 urban is always more painful that it looks. Concrete and steel dont forgive, it tears your clothing, leaves road rashes for months and only last 3 seconds at most. I have so much more respect for urban riders for their crashes.

Ya whatever. Urban crashes may hurt more on average but when shit hits the fan in big mountains it really does. The point is people don't die skiing urban. They do skiing big mountain.Therefore you can't say urban crashes are grarlier.
