As much as possible give the threads you're viewing a super honest rating (up/down).

We're collecting a ton of data right now on what ratings would look like, so the more we have the better.

It was on the reply page? I don't remember it being there. Not at the bottom of the thread, but after you click reply its at the bottom right before you post the reply.

The only thing is that we want people to be rating it who are only viewing it as well. Perhaps in both places and we'd be stoked.

i think that this system is kind of flawed, because knowing NS it's just people downvoting for no reason, contrary to how the thread is going. So it could be a normal thread but -11? kinda stupid. like said before, reddit knows what's up, they down vote only stupid shit. But, again, knowing ns it seems like that will never truly happen...

y'know what i'm saying?

Its possible, but you never know. Communities can change, especially if there is good reason to change.

Likely the reason that everyone [on reddit] upvotes interesting content whether or not they agree is because that is what powers the ordering of the website. If you don't, then the good stuff is not going to get to the top.

I'm by no means positive on this though, just a theory. You're right that it would be a shame to have a good thread that people disagree on, but gets a -11. That is something we will face as a community.

We'll enable an additional totally optional ranking view in a future release. It might change the way people rate if they see how it affects order.

Did you mess with the feedback? It's weird now, like if there is a long post (my feedback for example) you can scroll to the right. I don't know about this !

And is it just me or when you click feedback it says "There are no comments on this topic" Probably part of the bug.

Comments now load dynamically instead of being included in the original HTML of the page. It takes a moment after the page loads for the browser to get and render the comment list. I could make the comments either:

A) Not show at all until the comments are loaded
B) Hide the "no comments" message on load, and only show it if no comments are found.

I'd personally prefer B

yeah definitely get rid of the no comments while its trying to load a bunch of comments I know are there
