For the people like me who haven't gotten any avy training yet, here is a short video that can serve as an introduction to avalanche safety. It's about 37 MB, so you'll probably want to save it to your hard drive instead of streaming it.
i'd just like to ask that anyone who doesnt have ave training and watches this...dont think you're qualified...go do an actual ave course, they're fun, infomative, and you usually get some sweet ass skiing in too....trust me, it's worth it
I plan to take an avi course next year with school, just so I have the knowhow if I ever get the chance, or at least to be more aware and what not.
'I would be embarrassed to constantly complain about my life considering all the freedom and opportunities we have today. People that can't find anything they enjoy in life simply aren't giving it a real try.' ~Nick 311
I never knew avy courses sometimes take you to ski. I guess taking the course in the winter would actually be better than in the summer. I was worried about it interfering with skiing in my already packed winter time schedule.
