Advice for life...

Leave a piece of life advice.

Doesn't matter if it's specific or more general. Doesn't really matter if it's your original though or advice you've picked up along the way from someone else.

If you were going to give someone you don't know some advice, what would it be? Something that could be beneficial to a stranger out there.

Was he a rally driver? I remember that name from xgames I think. Pretty sure he was the one that pastrana looked up to a bunch. Died in a race a couple years ago?

Create experience, don't consume it.  Don't try to copy what has been done, there is no fun in that. Do exactly what you want. The beauty of life lies in creating your own path and creating your own experience. In other words, don't do something because other people are doing it, do what you like to do to create great memories and experience. You only have one life on this planet so you might as well spend your time doing what you like and creating your own experience. There is no point in following what others have done. Create rather than consume. Make music. Create something to show to others, don't merely look at what others have created.

This idea has been the inspiration for my entire life. Its all about the experience of life, its not about reading about life or watching how others do life. Its about your own life. What do you think when you go on a hike, or what do you feel when you have sex? What empowers you? That's what matters, don't ever try to be someone else. That's diversion. Its all about empowering your own present moment and experience. Take responsibility for how you feel and what you do because its all you have at the end of the day.

Don't accept other people's expectations or definitions of what your life can be. If you think you can do it, then go for it. Who's to say that you're not strong, intelligent, or brave enough to accomplish it? Just because it doesn't work for them doesn't mean that it won't for you. Be the person that other people want to meet, and never think that you can't do something because you're not "a certain way." The only thing preventing you from trying and accomplishing your goals is yourself. Do one thing every single day that scares you- that way at the end of the day you can look back and know that you lived through it and are better because of it. Have respect. Ski every single day that you're able to, some day your knees will fail and you'll think about every single day you could have been doing something you love.

Also, a guest speaker was at my school last year, he told us his life story (parents were heroin addicts, everything was going wrong for him, dyslexic, etc) and despite all of the odds, he went to college on a football scholarship and became a principal of a school.

But anyways, he said to always have a song that makes you happy (his was keep your head up.) I think that was some great advice.

Love this. That's basically how I've live my life so far. Doing things because it was right for me not because it's what everyone was doing. When I was deciding if I was going to go to college, I didn't want to go simply because it's what I was supposed to do. I didn't want to stay in the church simply because it was what I was supposed to do. I questioned everything and formed my own path. I spend my life doing the things that I feel are important.

And the route I took isn't for everyone. And that's a good thing, because it's the route that I felt was the right path. For someone else the path my be very different, and that's the beauty of it.
