And if you're like me this is something you've been wondering about for a while, who is Eric Pollards new outerwear sponsor? Well, it seems has though Mr. Pollard has joined the new K2 outerwear program. Case closed!!

You seem to have missed the point, the original comment was about Line being k2's boutique ski brand, not the ski industry's as a whole. BTW, K2 isn't a ski brand, "K2 Skis" is one of their ski brands. If by chance Armada was under Amer it would in fact be their (Amer's) boutique brand (assuming they didn;t own an even smaller company like icelantic or surface)using the same reasoning Line is K2's.

It's not really "boutique" just a more freestyle and core brand like Forum is for Burton. Boutique is like say, ON3P or Boone or some tiny indy brand.

Not really worth the argument though so whatever.

BTW any pics of the K2 Outerwear? I want to check it out.

Had you asked before I would have said K2 #1 Solly #2... not even close... whoops.

As for Line, I have mixed feelings. Let's be real... It's shocking how big they have gotten in terms of popularity and sales... but face it... they ONLY market to new-school freestyle (TC/chronics/etc...) or surfy powder guys (bacons, opus, etc...)... The models they attempt to market elsewhere don't work (like the "big mountain charger" motherships - no hate I have a pair but compared to my lizzies, bacons, ep's... um pass).

They have kept Pollard on for years. They're absolutely loved by those who ride them and hated by those who don't... I love them and I have friends who hate Line so much they get screaming angry when I boast about their product... which undoubtedly leads more to say they are pretty unique. As for the "In every shop argument" I don't know where you live but here in Durango, Colorado... we have 6 ski shops and only one (2nd Avenue Sports) sells Line products.. as stated before the rest of the shops in town constantly bag that they sell "shitty, too soft skis" The type of complaint the company was founded on combatting by peeps like Pollard...

I always laugh when they say "These are crap I'd flex right through these" and then I watch videos on Pollard throwing huge underflips on a 90 foot step down at Mt. Hood... sure he just stomped that but you'd break them? Yeah, you're "too good" for a soft flex lol.

The old 100 was their best selling ski. I would ski the shit out of one in 186 any day.

One of the best threads i have read in a long time......

By the way my 2 cent's.

Pollard with products like ex: Pollard Opus Bacon and The 130 WITH 80% edge and the way they float on powder are one of the best skis i have ridden.

Where i tried K2 in this example the Obsethed 2012/2013 and not to bitch the skis because they are some nice POW skis but that's it, you get them by mistake to groomers hard pack and they flap up and down like MOFO'S, not to forget if you try to stop you will need some space.

Whereas LINE you can POW jump, flip, ride on ice, groomers, hard pack, soft pack, you can have you cousin and have him tow you with a truck on death valley highway and they will still ride like Eric Pollard intended to.

So te get to the bottom of this i don't give a crap if K2 sells more or less i think LINE has better skis overall.

I find it really interesting that you tried a 12/13 Obsethed...in 12/13 there was no Obsethed. Seth's new pro model is called the Side Seth and is a non-twin with a metal laminate in the topsheet to stiffen it up and be a badass charging machine.

What replaced the Obsethed for the 12/13 year and beyond is the Pettitor which are a badass set of boards that any competant skier can shred on anything but boiler plate ice.

i have tried in 12/13 season Obsethed 11/12, later in the season i got the chance to see and touch the Pettitor ski's since a friend of mine bought them did not get a chance to ride them though.

Still think that Line rock's OPUS especially playful ski in any snow you throw at it.

Also i know the thread was created a year ago i was just browsing at different threads and i found this one to be awesome and fun..
