haha shane already said he was dropped by volant in yearbook, i knew that already. he even states hes with K2 in th movie.

while Shane didn't say he was with K2 in yearbook, on the k2factoryteam forums, Seth, yesterday said he knew Shane and K2 were talking, and today said that he just found out it was a done deal. Looks like K2 is going to have one hell of a kickass big mountain lineup of skiers.

i think K2 should put out a team video at some point. I hope k2 lets shane design his own ski cuz the spatulas were an amazing unique idea and i think that shane is gonna be one of the people that will make a permanent change in skis.

yeah amn that was probably one of the more ignorant things youve ever said. ive only jumped once for my birthday, and it was amazing. how he does that by straightlining it into a huge cliff and then hucking

i am happy cus k2 will make a spatula desighn and people will buy the ski and experience the greatest pow ski ever wouldnt be suprised to see Seth on the new k2 spatula desighn its that good

hey, ehy you guys remember when the spatulas were in stores... for like 2 years... BECAUSE NONE OF THEM SOLD... yeah that seems like a pretty good precedent to me for k2 wto make a similar ski... not like k2's trying to make money or anything.

but the spatula deal was this
volant took credit for the design and build of them, mcconkey said no way it was him with their support, volant said no, he got pissed, took the skis and sold them around tahoe and other places

Likelihood is that K2 won't design a Spatula or anything like it as Volant would have owned the patent on the design of the ski and therefore the rights to produce it.

Shane is the man, I remember seeing his spatulas on the rack at the midmountain lodge at Squaw and I was like what the fuck are those and then i come out and I notice its Shane McConkey, cause of him I want to someday try SkiBASEing. Just flying through the air like that is so fucking cool

if shane joins k2 then they will have a kick ass big mountian team they might even take the tittle away from rossi as bast big mountian ski team. i doubt that we will ever see another ski like the spatula again(thank god) and volant has been struggling for years, they nearly went backrupt 4 years ago and they had there asses saved by another company(i dont remember who because it was so long ago). if atomic bought volant then this could be a good thing, and maybe get some new technology put into the skis.

I would without any shadow of a doubt say that he is one of the best big mountain riders in the world. He is so fearless its mindnumbing.

Actually scratch that though, anyone seen 'There is something about McConkey'? He rips at fucking everything!! People who have only seen his more recent segments might not entirely understand his versatility (that said I haven't seen Yearbook yet), but he is so good at all aspects of skiing!
