Just a general question about how much wax is best to scrape off?

yah, iron it on so there are no dry spots, and use a metal scraper (make shure the edge is straight and is at 90 degrees). plastic ones work ok, but they dont do that great of a job. dont run it on the edges, and get off ass much as possible. then, take some scotch brite pads and buff that shit out, up and down the ski.

depends, if you know it will be icy out, dont scrape any off, but if it wont be icy out, scrape most of it off.

uh, no. if you dont scrape any off, you wont go anywhere. if its icy, just wax them the next time you go out. you should be waxing your skis every day or everyother day you ride.

don't scrape any off are you serious???? haha i'm gonna try one day that just to see what happens

but i use a plastic scraper to get most of the wax off, and then a metal one to get the little tiny bit that the plastic one can't get.

I raced for 7 years.. first 2-3 runs on an icy slope will get most of the wax off..

Cheers for that. That's what I've been doing (scraping most off and then using the scotch brite things to rub it down) but thought I'd just check to make sure.

scotch brite pads? How about a nylon brush. Brushing is key after 2 scrapings (1 plastic 1 metal) Buy a brush with a cork on the flipside, you'll need that in the future also.

you want to leave a little wax on dont scrap as much as u can off but close to as much as u can do maybe like 1-3 really good scraps with a sharp scraper
