I have skied for the last 15 years, however last season I tried out snowboarding. I don't know what the hell we are all doing still skiing!!! This sport blows skiing out of the water, we all need to take our heads out of our asses and ditch the sticks and pick up a board. Seriously, it is so much better.

Carving powder feels better on a snowboard than skiing powder and jibbing on the piste can be more fun sometimes but for everything else I would rather be on skiis...

yea, and maybe I should wear a hoodie in a wet snow and push all the snow down the hill by butter sliding the whole way down, or clog up the park by sitting on my ass at all the in runs. Then I could do a no allie 50/50 and fall off after 5ft. and lay there and bitch and moan for 20 min. Then I'll go down the hill and bonk off every pole tree, stump, rock, gum wrapper, fallen kid I see. I will live my life like im stuck in an episode of jackass. Then I will worship shawn white while guzzeling mountain dew, and wearing huge earphones like im a boss dj, and buy every gimmick on the market with my mom's credit card. Then when I'm in line I will smoke a cig swear infront of old people and stomp my board as loud as I can so everyone knows how badass am, and wear a studded belt for extra extreamness factor. Then I will talk shit about everything like im the biggest bad aas on the MT, and go sit in the lodge for the rest of the afternoon. good idea

sarcsm. chill, I'm sure many people here ride w/boarders. i am well aware of dumbass skiers as well. Like snotty rich kids with spyder coats that the sleeves zip off and wear sunglass and a backward whit frat hat. they have matching 1080's and use racing poles and think going fast and straigt airing is free sking. but they only do it between race lessons. they also have a studded belt and tuck in there nothface fleece so the whole world can see it. there coolest move is to ski 'fakie' at the bottom of the hill when it gets flat, then fly into the lift line and stop real fast at the gates. when in line they talk shit to there one friend about snowboarders, but not too loud so they dont get their ass beat. then go to the lodge for the rest of the afternoon and drink expensive shity skunk import beer and exchange european heli sking stories that never happend in a loud enugh voice so that the whole bar can hear . sorry it kinda sucks but it helps me procrastinate from writing a resume cover letter.

i tried to switch a couple of years back but it was too hard for me. And the rebel thing to do these days is to ski cause everybody snowboards.

I skied for a few years, then snowboarded a season two seasons ago. I will say that I enjoyed snowboarding a lot, but needless to say, I went back to skiing... :)

Jaa I tried snowboarding for 2 years a while ago and I have to admit that it sucked! Catching back edges all the time, couldn't land a 5 ft. cliff... then I went back to skiing and now I am saved!

i think its dope how snowboarders use the whole mtn to jib and bonk off, i plan on incorporating that into my riding more this season.

I wouldnt give up skiing for anything. It's so diffrent (and better in my opinion) then snowboarding. Mainly because we arent strapped side ways to a board. Skiing you have so much more control, which in result meens you can look really ugly, but you can also ahieve fluidy that snowboarding can't touch. basicly in my eyes skiing has alot more room to grow then snowboarding.

I asked a guy why he changed to snowboarding 3 years ago after 10+ years of skiing and he told me 'becasue it was the 'in' thing to do'.

am I the only one who thinks thats bullshit? i told him you do shit because you like it, and cuz its fun, not because its 'in' and your trying to be trendy. now he talks mad shit about me and hates me. its sort of funny, because I dont even care anymore, but he still reps tons of hate towards me.

Being out there skiing every day, good or bad, just playing around with friends, with no contests or filming- that is the real spirit of skiing for me. that is why i started skiing, and if i lose those moments that is what will make me stop skiing.

anyone who says they were a skier for x-many years, but then took up snowboarding, were never really skiers. i hate it when people are like, 'i skied for 15 years, but then i got on a snowboard and it's SO mouch better.' i immediately tell them, 'you were never a skier.' it pisses a lot of people off.
