im not crying or hating. I don't care if people are rich a lot of my friends are millionaires and billionaires. I'm just saying, yes he did everything legally which resulted in higher taxes and the federal government spending more money. Aren't those supposed to be things he's against? funny how stuff works out like that.

gotta love it when clearly biased people try to make a video trying to make themselves look neutral then forget and reveal at the end of it they are actually incredibly biased against the thing they are supposedly  "neutrally" explaining. point is, don't listen to the video, not really how it works

First of all Robert Reich is one of the most renowned and respected political economist around. he studied economics at oxford he knows his shit.

Also, I didn't find the video to be biased at all it was completely based on facts, and Mr. Reich just explained those facts.

To everyone saying that he made his money fairly. Yes, he did I'm not saying its bad he did that. He used the system perfectly. The real point of this video is to point out that Romney's so called "free-market" business venture actually ended up costing tax payers and the federal government a lot of money, and we all know Romney is against increased taxes and big government spending. Just another example of Romney's flip flopping. Its okay for the government to spend money, and for tax payers to pay more when it benefits him, but now he's against it once he's running for office, and not profiting off of failed businesses and tax payer dollars. Its just funny and ironic.

you don't think he's biased? did you see the end of the video? for goodness sakes he put up the words "don't be tricked" at the end. if thats not bias, i don't know what is; it's pretty clear he doesn't like the idea of private equity.

point is, he over simplifies what happens too much. you really think all private equity firms do is buy companies, fire some people, then sell them for more money? you really think companies hire extra people for no good reason and need to pay a company like bain capital millions of dollars just to tell them they employ more people than they need to and just need to fire a couple of them to make their company more profitable? i think the guy's being unfair by simplifying it that much when he almost definitely knows thats not actually how it works.

but i guess thats not why you posted, so ignore all that if you want. on flip flopping, is it really that big a deal? the way i see it, the economy is one of america's biggest problems right now and romney knows how the economy and business works far better than any other candidate running for office. he's also clearly a very smart guy, and isn't a horrible human being by any means. personally, i'll still probably vote for obama, but the only republican candidate i'd consider voting for against him is romney.

fair point. I just don't want people to think I'm criticizing mitt romneys wealth cause I'm not i just wanted to raise potential awareness about how he got that wealth and i think the video does a good job of explaining it quickly. even if it is a little biased at the end.

But that's every politician. They say whatever gives them the ability to get into power and then transfer wealth to the the people who got them there who then pay them back in return. That's how government works. Remember when Obama was anti-war and pro-legalization? They're all sweet-talking crooks.

Ohh. I think Noam Chomsky's analysis of foreign policy is dead on, as are most of his criticisms of the current system. I differ from him on how anarchy could be achieved and the ways in which it would best work. But fundamentally, I don't care what people do as long as coercion isn't involved and I would love if we had a society where people were free to experiment with different forms of anarchy.
