because we all know from experience that cats and dogs aren't just mindless creatures, most people don't have pet squirrels but if they did they would probably learn that they are similar to dogs and cats in that they have personalities too. the fact is that all (most?) animals do, which is why people get pissed off when other ignorant people just go and kill them because they don't think they have "feelings" or thoughts. i wouldn't be surprised if they felt fear the same way we do, because we are all animals and people forget that most of the time because our brains are so big and awesome
i doubt the squirrel was even seriously harmed. they're tougher than you'd imagine. i've seen squirrels fall out of trees from greater heights than that thing was launched and they just scurry off.
you have to remember theyre shooting it from a trap which is a progressive increase in speed- theyre designed to not accelerate fast enough to break the clay super fragile pigeons they shoot- the only way that squirrel couldve died is from the impact with the ground but theyre squirrels- they take bigger drops than that all the time
yes but it's mostly landing on the ground that is the issue. I also said that the problem is they are to likely not to die and just end up hurt.
also what were you guys shooting a squirrel with that it took 3 shots to kill? a 22 has more than enough power to kill a squirrel, even with rat shot. were you shooting it in the ass?
nah son, .22 cause all sorts of damage. get up real close to a nigga and shoot him in the head and that 22 be rattlin all up in his head cave tearin shit up indiscriminately, yaaddamean?
the difference is the propellant. pellet guns use compressed air which is why you usually have to pump them up a bunch, and a .22 uses a powder cartridge, like a conventional bullet. a high powered pellet gun with a well weighted flathead round can do a lot more damage
i live in the middle of a forest and we have a shit ton of squirrels in our yard now that we no longer have a dog and they're pretty fun to watch, i feel no need at all to get rid of em ....
or are european squirrels perhaps different from their american brothers?
Yeah I have lived with woods around me my whole life and for the most part squirrels are harmless. If you want to have a bird feeder though the squirrels will just eat all the feed. Red squirrels love to move into houses when it gets cold and they can be a real problem. So really the only squirrels I shoot are red squirrels. Unless I'm hunting for them in which case I only shoot grey squirrels because they have much more meet on them.
