Sorry Chaunceyskis, I couldn't wait to make the thread.

Post up videos of your favorite pros killing it, pics of some sick spots in your town, or videos of you landing a new trick, ask about tricks, give advice on tricks, discuss/review skates, and discuss the latest news in the world of aggressive skating!

Eventually, we could even use this thread for buying, selling, and trading parts or full skates.



First off, what are your thoughts on the beginning of powerblading? Kizer has just brought the concept into play in the aggressive rollerblading game with their new frames able to hold 4 80mm wheels while still allowing soul and negative plate grinds. Check the fourth and fifth edit for some powerblading shots.

Second, there is a lot of good advice on what type of skates suit you in this thread, as well as where to buy full skates/parts,(https://www.newschoolers.com/ns/forums/readthread/thread_id/615627/), all courtesy of a_pla5tic_bag

as someone who has skated with franky, his personality is nuttier than his skating. he tried selling a kid 2 sets of abec 9s telling the kid that buying both would make them abec 18s and he'd skate twice as fast

Im probably getting a pair of skates today. I cant chose between the Genesys 9.1 or the os.4. I feel I wont be used to the flex of the Remz but i want to try them. Thoughts?

Can't go wrong with razors, because they're like the go-to skate for most first timers. If you feel like you would like the flex go with Remz.

where are you ordering from? if you're reading people saying things about the flex of those two skates it's not really going to apply to you since you're a first time skater. Really anything you get is going to be way flexier than a ski boot and all of them will feel weird at first. Unless you tighten your skates to the max. Go with what you can get cheap, personally I'd try and find some SL's for razors and I'm not sure what kind of remz I would go with. Gens are fine though, anything is good to start on. You'll probably find that the flex is weird, but having a landing platform that's like a foot long is going to be the hardest part.

I've skated before and I had the K2 varsitys. Im just not sure how the difference in flex is going to be.

Remz have insane amounts of flex if you ride them to have flex, the way I have mine aren't insanely flexy but they are much more than the varsitys

Oh you'll get used to it then. Personally my skates are ultra flex, thought they used to be a bit more flexy until I changed liners. When I get a chance later I still have to take a photo of my setup. Ultra mod carbuns

Remz os are great if they fit but they got narrow toes so beware. Gens are pretty nice and reliable to start on. Both are pretty flexy but the remz will be flexier. Gens would probably be better to start on though because they are pretty normal feeling coming off of ski boots, but will still be way flexier.

also here, they are done and have been skated. breaking in liners still hurts though.

that would be an SK carbon 2 liner modded with a phoenix liner and some padding in certain spots right on the shell after i gutted it. And buckles from my ch1's cause carbon buckles are herp. Think that's all. fluid 4's with those newer eulogies and uhmw antis.

The same really, except this liner isn't dead and killing my feet. The liner extends more past the cuff so they don't feel as floppy as before but it's not a worlds difference. They're more snug on my feet too, but that might go away with break in time.

also sorry for so many posts but how the hell do you stop, I've pussied out on stairs and i try to stop and just slip or only one skate goes 90

yeah stopping... if i'm going really fast i jump sideways and take a lot of jumping steps. T stopping works a little. if you're like hill bombing or something... good luck lol. I guess you can do a cess slide on the ground and rape your soles.

I think he got a marketing job or something, whatever he was at university for. I don't think he quit skating, just being "pro", same deal as Bolino. Does anyone else here skate flat? I've been riding slimline 2's rockered up with 56mm STAR wheels and have been loving it for park, and rails, but I'm a little nervous to test in on real ledges.
